  1. If u open the mytek and look at the wire from pcb to rca, u will know what i am talking about. Whereas the xlr is direct soldered to the circuit board.
  2. Art, I guess the weakiest link of your system is using rca output in mytek, when u look at mytek internal the rca out is a flimsy cable compare xlr which is direct soldered to pcb.
  3. Not sure u guys did come across this, my situation : sms-100 option 1 - squeezelite selected In synology: LMS running, media server running, minimserver running, audio station running. Control point(andriod) : Use squeezebox - no problem bubbleupnp - library, choose media server, flac file ok, wav - MIME type error 714, aiff - white noise at the end of play of each file Audio station - can see sotm squeezelite but not sotm mpd if chosen flac file only, wav and aiff weird white noise Is there anything I can do or I can only accept this situation. I ask this becoz using Audio Station to stream to sotm squeezelite sounds best to my ears.
  4. I'm using DS212J with M2Tech Hiface two without problem, also SOtM USB HD DDC. I prefer SOtM becoz it can be powered by external power supply.
  5. Strange, it seems no body has reported it around the various sites, people seems to accepted it as normal ? In fact, I am very please with the SQ of the Alix 3D box but very irritating to get the hiccup But people said Bryston BDP1 is also make use of Voyage Starter Kits as the basis and also the review magazine has no complaint. So ALSA has done something proprietary for Bryston?
  6. Tks for the advise Miska, then I can forget to manipulate the parameters within the mpd further.
  7. Do u guys has periodic glitches when playing voyage mpd thru ALIX board. My voyage linux bulit is 20111030. I use NAS to SOtm USB HD DDC AES to Myek 192. I tried direct from ALIX box to Mytek USB1, the periodic glitches takes longer but still can listen but when thru SOtm, it is more obvious. I listen to 44.1/192 files and they're the same. I tried to change the period_time/buffer_time parameters in mpd.conf, it seems it makes the glitches appear longer or shorter. Is it the ALSA issues or voyage mpd ???
  8. It seems nobody is interested to make use of the Synology Audio Station as all-in-one music server+player. Her new Audio Station can now output 24/192 thru USB. If yr DAC is usb audio 2.0 compliant then it becomes a plug and play option. Now I use SoTM DX USB DDC to feed spdif to DAC and the result is satisfactory. 212J -> SoTM -> DAC
  9. We paid that much for the DAC & really want to know the potential of this DAC.
  10. I have question about the setting of 192 DAC. When using FW internal syn, the system will auto syn the sampling freq per input file. But in spdif/AES input, if I choose internal syn, I had the choices to select 44.1/48/... However, if I choose to stay at one freq. e.g. 44.1, those Hirez files still play normally. My question is , what is the diff between staying in one freq vs switching internal freq according to files native sampling freq. Is Mytek down-sample those 192KHz to 44.1KHz if I choose to stay at 44.1 in internal syn ? If yes, then I need to goto Mytek and change the internal freq everytime if I want to enjoy the real power of the DAC.
  11. What's the problem, cannot do auto sampling freq switching?
  12. Hi, when I select the usb1 menu, it only let me choose input syn but in the menu, it said internal syn. Do I miss anything? I did write an email to Michal but no answer yet !!!!! Does anybody advise what's happen?
  13. Esprit, Did u send email to report the problem to Amarra, if yes, do they give u a solution. I did send the mytek firewire issue to Amarra with no reply so far.
