No worries man. Either way, I think I'm not in the minority when I say the iFi USB is a no-brainier for a bit of improvement. I just ordered another one for my headphone system.

Yes; I was not responding to you as indicated by my quote. I have, however, found very "little" difference with the ground switch as well. Of course YMMV.

I also noticed an immediate improvement...slightly quieter background and a smoother presentation. I played with the iFi plug's orientation but found little discernible difference.

I was told that it matters and to make sure the bulky part of the plug was oriented downward. Now, whether that means that if your ground plug is at 12 o'clock it should be upside down I don't know. I would guess yes but most of the technical stuff is above me...

I'm also very curious about the Gemini and its performance. I'm getting very good results with the Platimum USB cable out of the iFi...if it can get better it is a must have.

Thanks for the clarification. My order is now placed. Is the supplied cable a standard USB cable or is it specific to the unit? I am also curious if an upgraded cable will still provide "some" sonic benefits (on both ends assuming they are the same) or if it's now rendered moot.

So is this product from AMR? Sorry I'm a little dense this morning. If it is, wondering why Vince would say it would make very little difference in conjunction with the DP777; OP's findings notwithstanding. Is it intended for use with other manufacturers' DACs. Regardless, I think I'll try one.
