  1. Pulled the plate and there wasn't much slack and looked pretty clean. Checked outdoor wall and there is about 7 feet of Ethernet cable parallel to power conduit. I added extra silicone to where the cable enters the wall from outside. Right now seems to have done the trick but will let dry and see what I find out during this weekend's listening sessions. Thank you all for your help!
  2. I power the Microrendu with the LPS1 but there is noise way earlier in the path
  3. The Orbi has the main Router and the Satellite piece. The Router piece has Ethernet out like most routers. The wired signal is very strong and I'm trying to keep it all wired. There is Blue Jeans Cat 6 from the Orbi router to the wall jack behind it. Then there is the outdoor CAt 6 Run to the music room Wall socket, out of which the noise is coming from. The sound in the music room is audible even if the Switch that is linked to the the Microrendu is not connected to the jack. I cant open the video on my phone but can open it on my PC.
  4. Hoping here to get some input from the knowledgeable audience. I used to have TP link powerline extenders getting me Ethernet to my music room to connect to my microrendu. Worked well signal wise but my Rogue tube pre amp didn't like it. Had an electrician hard wire with outdoor grade Cat 6 from router room to music room. Worked perfectly for 8 months and then old router died. Just replaced with Netgear Orbi and signal is great but there is now an audible noise coming from the music room wall socket. If I disconnect the BJ Cat 6 cable from router back in the living room, noise is gone. Converted to fiber out of the router with Ethernet into the wall socket and still hear noise out in the other room. Can't figure out how I can just hear noise coming out of an Ethernet cable socket. I'll post a video and hope somebody can help. IMG_7634.MOV
  5. Thank you all for the tips. With your help and an exremely helpful Apple Support guy, we cleaned up the Finder and everything is going to the external hard drive now and the missing art came back without affecting the ssd. I will now look into the embedding situation for future rips.
  6. While I have not followed exactly those steps by putting the cover on Desktop first, I did drag a couple of album covers straight from Amazon into the Artwork box as you are suggesting, which retained the artwork for all the tracks, but once again (argghh) took space from the SSD. I can, of course, delete them afterwards but In the past, all new rips and dowloads did not affect the SSD without any further steps, including dragging artwort in the aforementioned manner for albums that iTunes did not provide when ripping CD's. Looks like my "missing" covers on iTunes are in my External Hard Drive but calling them up via "Get Artwork" takes SSD space also. I have over 23,000 tracks so a "per album" procedure solution would probably not be very eficient for fixing the existing library. Thank you for your help!
  7. Not sure what I have done, but this is the end result: when ripping CD's the music is saving as intended to my 1TB external hard drive but when adding the art, it is taking space from the 120gb ssd as shown on the Mac mini activity monitor. After deleting some files from the music folder of the mac mini I also noticed that a lot of the art was missing from my iTunes. (I have had most of my close to 700 gb library and metadata on the external hard drive for over a year without a problem) Clicking on "get album artwork" brings it back real quick (one album at a time) but again takes space from the ssd so it appears that if I were to get all my art back it woul eat away ssd storage space. I want to go back to having all the music and metadata stored only on the EHD. The EHD is designated on the iTunes advanced Menu as the location but somehow the art makes its way to the ssd as I can confirm looking on Finder-iTunes folder-album art. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Chris THank you for the valuable information and videos. I have been traveling all week so I have not had much opportunity to work on the conversions. I did covert several files from FLAC to AIFF successfully using Max. However, when converting, after each track was converted I did get a warning saying that "(track name) had an error in tagging" or something to that effect. Just clicking on the message after each single track converted, kept the process going and the tracks played fine. Would this be a Max issue? Maybe I should try a different version?
  9. Its interesting how on the short reply I got from HD Tracks, they said, "Just drag into the HD icon". I do want to have all my music located on the external drive, regardless of the resolution. Thank you so much for your help. I will try it out!
  10. Hope someone can help. I don't want HD Tracks to take space from my SSD so I want to them to be stored and played from the external HD. Currently, when a track is dowloaded, the My HD Tracks folder appears automatically on the desktop. I tried dragging the folder and/or its contents to the external HD. While the files do show up in the HD, the original desktop folder remains with data. Further attempts to drag the files into the HD result in the message that the files are already in the HD and it asks if I want the files to be replaced or merged with the ones already there. Now, the moment the desktop folder is emptied from the Trash, itunes/Pure Music can not locate the tracks anymore. I tried changing the settings on the downloader to My music. When a track was dowloaded, the HD Tracks folder appeared on the desktop, but it contents were not inside. Even though the download was completed, I could not locate the tracks anywhere in the compluter so I have not been able to add them to Pure Music. All the tracks mentioned are in 24/96 Flac formats. When left on the desktop, files play great depending on content, of course. My ultimate goal is to keep adding and enjoying hi res but using the external Hard drive exclusively for storage. Attempts to contact HD Tracks for help have resulted in little assistance.
