  1. They're being used in a domestic system. As for preference, I have a very slight preference towards the LIO-8 because I love total neutrality and it's the most neutral sounding dac I've heard and imo, I feel the LIO-8 is more neutral than the Weiss dac202. I love both the LIO-8 and invicta and admired each for its own strengths. That's why I'm keeping them both for now. People that use headphones for the majority of the time, I would go with the Invicta simply because I feel that the integrated headphone amplifier is phenomenal and that it paired really well with all kinds of headphones. It's a powerful and high quality headphone amp. The headphone amp of the LIO-8 is phenomenal as well if you're using it with low impedance headphones but it struggles with high impedance headphones such as the Sennheisers HD650 or HD800.
  2. I have both the LIO-8 and the invicta. I believe they are at the same level of performance depending on your flavor. The Lio-8 is very neutral sounding while the invicta is slightly warmer sounding. LIO-8 has sweeter and more involving mids while the invicta has tighter bottom ends and crystal clear highs. Invicta sounds faster with better transient response, tighter bass and more impactful. This does not mean there's any deficiencies with regards to the bass of the LIO-8. I feel the LIO-8 has more body to the notes and thicker in comparison to the invicta. The LIO-8 dissipates much less heat than the invicta. While the invicta doesn't get hot, it gets really warm after 30mins of usage. This did not bother me at all though.
