  1. Removing this line "net stop lmhosts" did not help. I don't have access to shared drive When I removed this line "net stop nsi /yes" the SMB shared drive worked.
  2. This is a great script. I really like it. I am only having problem with stopping the NSI in the Desktop Services Killer. Without the NSI I am unable to access network shares in my NAS over SMB.
  3. Does the Black Lightning Battery Power Supply charge one battery, while the other battery is used on dual battery configuration ? I understood that the SOtM mBPS-d2s Intelligent Battery Power Supply does that, but it can only be used for powering the SOtM USB card. I am looking for a solution that will not require a flip of a switch whenever I wan to listen to my music.
  4. Do you know how the digital volume control on the DAC2X will work: 1) What buttons will control it? Currently there is only one "ALT" button on the DAC for future use, and no volume controls. There are also no volume control buttons on the remote. 2) Will the volume control be via USB command from the PC? 3) Can the digital volume control be applied to the SPDIF input ports as well?
  5. barrows I can only say that I did test the Mytek DAC digital volume control, and like others, was not happy with it.
  6. I have tested the EMM Labs DAC2X with Classe CP-800, not the SSP-800. The CP-800 is a better PRE than the SSP-800, since it is focused on stereo. I was unhappy with the result. It just did not sounded as good as it should be. I have bought from EMM LABS the PRE2 preamp, and I must say I am quite happy with the combination with the DAC2X. The EMM Labs PRE2 is so much better in my setup than the Classe CP-800. I have not tested volume control in software, but I think the result would be bad, since you are loosing the bit perfect. This would also not work for DSD audio files. TOM_R, What are your AMP and speakers ?
  7. Ted, do you keep the PC and the DAC on all the time ? Do you use sleep mode in Windows ? If you power off, what is your power on sequence, and what is the boot time until you can actually play a song.
  8. Thanks Ted. I got 1.61 for preview as well, but did not test it yet. I have the EMM DAC2X and since I have so many sync issues with it with Windows, I have switched to Linux with MPD. Now I can show the PC a dead DAC and it will work immediately after powering it back on. Why do you think your CAPS sounds better than Auraliti ? Is it because of the different hardware you use, Jriver vs MPD, or Windows 8 vs Linux ?
  9. Ted, what driver do you use in Windows for USB class 2 audio, for your Meitner DAC ? I am using Thesycon 1.29 and having many issues with sync, when powering the DAC or the PC off and back on. I don't have that issues when using Linux and MPD. How do you compare the sound quality of Auraliti, that I saw that you have, to the new CAPS build ?
  10. Regarding the DSD Cutoff frequency filter, should I set it to 50Khz 60Khz or 70Khz ? What are you using ? It is written that it is "Gentle Filter to reduce high frequency noise", but I am not sure what setting I should use.
  11. I had the same issue with the new firmware. Just switch to DSD ASIO with dCS Marker 0x05/0xFA in the SACD decoder proxy. It seem that the bug only happen on DSD ASIO Native mode.
  12. Switching from Native DSD to DoP DSD with dCS Marker 0x05/0xFA seem to solve my problems with Firmware 1.6 and foobar2000. The switch now between PCM and DSD is clean, no click sound. Thanks Michal for the support.
  13. The new USB driver 1.33.10 for windows is very good. It fixed my problem in foobar2000 of switching between PCM 192Khz and DSD. The new firmware 1.6.0 is not so good. When playing DSD in foobar2000, the first one second of the track is muted. This is very bad. It also seem that the volume bypass is not working all the time. You can see that by setting the volume to low value in volume bypass, and than switch DSD track. I found the combination of firmware 1.4.3 and USB driver 1.33.10 to be the best. I must add that this is the best DAC I have ever heard and I really like it.
