  1. This is an unbelievably beautiful performance captured perfectly in DSD. Great in stereo & surround. Highest recommendation. San Francisco Symphony | Michael Tilson Thomas
  2. The real folders and music files are present along with the ._ files. The Mac has not browsed the Synology, but it was used earlier on to help transfer files to a previous server. I've just never run across these files before when importing/exporting from Synology external drive.
  3. This may help- I'm running Synology DSM on a Win 7 PC. There is a Mac on the home network but it is not being used in any way to touch the Synology or the new Fantom 4Tb external USB (which I assume is NTSF formatted). I was just surprised to find these small (1 kb) files on the USB drive. JRiver doesn't know what to do with them and excludes them on import. I assume they are harmless though.
  4. (previously posted to the wrong forum ... sorry!) I am using a Synology DS415+ and hoped to use an external USB/eSata drive to back up my music library. It seemed so easy -- attach the external drive and use the Copy function from the Synology Assistant. Copy speeds were adequate (120-150 Mb/sec) and the process ran smoothly HOWEVER the directory names of some, but not all, files were altered as shown below with the addition of the "._" preceding the track number. JRiver could no longer import these files and this was not a true backup of the Synology directory anymore. Is there any simple way around this that permits me to continue to use the Synology Assistant copy function and avoids the file name change? Any good utilities that could do bulk renaming (including subdirectories) and eliminate the extra characters? 6. Don't forget Catherine Russell, a fabulous voice steeped in tradition -- Dad wrote for Louis Armstrong and Mom played for an all woman band in the WWII era. Amazing live and on disc. And Tierney Sutton who has played and toured with the same band for well over a decade.
