  1. did your new firmware render my urendu obsolete.
  2. actually the urendu is becoming warm after all. the rest remains the same.
  3. I have been using my microrendu for a few years. It is plugged into an Ethernet switch which in turn is plugged into my PC which runs Windows 10. The USB is plugged into my PS Audio DAC. I am using Roon. This has been used for years. Recently my urendu stopped working. This has happened before when my Roon gets messed up. So I opened www.sonicorbiter.com and something new came up. I got search results for devices running Sonicorbiter OS. Nothing was found. What is this OS? Troubleshooting determined that the power supply is working. I measured it using a DMM. I noticed that when plugging in the Ethernet cable the jacks at both ends failed to light.I swapped cables. no change. I plugged directly into the LAN bypassing the switch. Still no change. Checked USB cable, OK. I tried various sequences of powering up and plugging in cables. No luck. The urendu is not getting warm. Should the device be getting warm? I seem to remember it doing so. Should the Ethernet jacks be lighting up? Why is the website searching for Sonicorbiter OS now? What is this telling me? Any suggestions.
  4. any suggestions on how I get to stream to the rendu? I have read over everything I can find but nothing has worked. I feel like I am one setting off, but I can't find it.
  5. I was once able to get the urendu to work with JRiver 22 on my Windows 10 PC. went back to DAC for a comparison and now cannot get the rendu to work. I keep getting the error displayed in the images section. I have gone through all the instructions, Have multiple Google searches, all to no avail. Anyone have any ideas.
  6. I can't get my jriver to work with my microrendu. I had it working once, then I switched back to USB output and now I can't get to work agiain. I keep getting the error that it will not play using Direct Sound with 44.1 kHz 2 channel format. Anyone have any set up instructions? I have it in DNLA output.
  7. 100 GB is tiny. My iPods hold more. My music collection is over 200 GB and growing. I would not consider buying anything that could not support at least 500 GB. The capability of adding an external drive would suffice. I am surprised that JRiver started with such a small drive. Larger drives for these are available. Using a PC or MAC defeats the purpose of this in my opinion. I would have to wait for it to boot up. Why not just use the PC directly? Seems like good idea poorly executed. What am I missing?
  8. I am intrigued by this device. I like that it can boot up quickly. But it is so limited in storage. Has anyone bought one? What do you think? Has anyone tried to expand the storage?
  9. I have been around for awhile, listened to 78s as a young child. I totally went for CDs. Recently I have giving my vinyl a listen again. I like the sound but I think it is because the edges are filed off. Live music is not so smooth. It has dynamics and edges and sometimes nasty surprises you hear on good digital. I think good digital is truer to life. The square wave idea is interesting but complete rubbish to an engineer.
  10. Being an engineer I was extrememly skeptical. All advocates finally eore me down. I bought Audioquest Csrbon from Crutchfields, no risk. Yes it makes adifference. More with music with the potential to sound great. So much grunge seems to be cleaned up. Bonnie Raitt on the Cheiftans Teats Of Stone CD is a great exsmple. Well worth the price.
  11. Look this up. Info is skimpy. I work with measurements in wireless industry. This is becoming a major problem in cables and towers. It can be equally present at audio frequencies according to our expert, but extremely difficult to measure at low frequencies, such as audio.
  12. while I am a skeptic I did read one professional reviewer who preferred the Belkin gold over pretty much everything. Why not? Does anyone have any idea what makes digital cable sound better?
