Did you notice any changes in sound switching from Windows 11 to Ubuntu?
  2. I don't use Client often, but when I do, I use RDP on my Android tablet. Works just fine.

Just so people are aware, my issue where V5 was sounding very different from V4 seems fixed. I'm only running V5 now, and the sound is not like what I had having both V4 and V5 on my PC. So be careful, this happened to me and one of my friends. My other friend has both, and he thinks they sound the same with the same settings. If this happened to 2 of us, I'm thinking it could happen to more. Full disclosure, my friend that also did not like V5 can't try my test for a couple of days due to the fact this is his second day being retired. He can't find 15 minutes to try this even though he now has 45 to 60 additional available hours per week. Retired people...🙄

I'm sure he means he can hear differences, but filters are not tone controls. I don't have 2 filters I think are close enough to say I like both. They are that different, but no where near as much as V4 and V5 sound WAY different. That said, I uninstalled both V4 and V5, reinstalled V5 trial, and the sound (from memory now) seems a very familiar V4. I'm not sure yet, but the bass is definitely different from earlier today. Maybe an install issue with both versions at the same time? IDK...

Agreed, but it's VERY obvious. This is not me being picky. This is WAY more than any filter change or noise shaper. Also, I run an UpBoard NAA. I'm going to try clean installs to see if that changes anything.

I asked because V4 and V5 with the exact same settings sounds very different. It does for a friend as well. I initially felt things were "better", but I now feel differently. I could explain details, but I'm not sure that helps. I can say bass is very different, treble is noticeable, and reverb is noticeable. There are at least 20 other sound aspects to go along with this as well, but thses 2 versions sound very different to me.

Jussi: Can you confirm that V5 sounds different (or should sound different) from V4 with the exact same settings? Considering the list of V5 upgrades/changes, one would not be led to understand they would sound different.

V4 is a separate product and the key will work on any computer you install it on. You just can't use in on multiple computers at the same time.

Do you read your posts? I'd like you to take the option other than "pay up". Do you you know what I mean?

I'm wrestling with a similar opinion. I purchased HQP Jan 14, 2022, and I get 15%. Support for HQP is outstanding, and for me, there is just no alternative. I guess it is what it is, but I reserve the right to be disappointed.

    I run Windows 11 Pro on a Z490 motherboard with a i5-10600k.

Jussi: Not to put you on the spot, but can you explain why V5 sounds so different from V4.x with the exact same settings? What part of V5 was modified that would alter the sound? Maybe it's just me, but V5 makes V4 unlistenable in comparison. Maybe it's my DAC or some sort of PC aspect, but the difference is unmistakable with every track I've tested.

Thanks. Yes I've tried/trying those. There seems a lot more for DSD users.
