  1. This could be a game changer for me... I was considering to send my wifi router to get it modded to get to a cleaner network. Perhaps EtherRegen would already do the trick for me. looking forward to the details on: 1) recommended setup: I guess the typical setup for most people is - Modem --> Wifi Router --> switch --> a) NAS, b) Computer (probably a Roon Server), c) streamer. Where should EtherRegen(s) be placed 2) some technical explanations: a) why the clean port is 10/100 not 10/1000? b) the presence of the SFP, is it for bridging 2 EtherGen? c) LPS1.2 can power EtherRegen? d) best placement in the recommended setup and why?
  2. I don't have a sms200. I have an auralic Aries mini. Their app integrates Tidal and NAS music quite well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Cause I haven't optimized my NAS, I find most of my red book rips aren't that better than tidal Hi-Fi. So didn't bother. That's why I am exploring an optimized NAS, especially SSD prices has become a lot more reasonable. A 2T ssd is entering the affordable category Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Gotcha. I have slim down my music collection to around 1T on my 2bay Synology in SSD. I am relying the remaining music on Tidal. I view in the future, I will rely on Tidal and likes more. The NAS will b for those rare ones that I have but Tidal doesn't have (e.g. A vinyl rip from friend or some others). That's why I am thinking to build a better NAS as source for my streamer/DAC. Otherwise, I will likely go for the ready built stuff, melco, aurender, etc. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Romaz, very interesting. Was wondering if you have consider this new computer you building would replace your NAS? By replacing the system and LAN clocks, this should ensure greater accuracy streamed to your end-point directly, given there are 2 LAN ports.
  6. I would go for single ssd and remove the fan (can turn off beep notification). Then a Usb regen (lightspeed, W4S, uptone, PS audio, intona, etc in no particular order), then better psu for the Usb regen, then better Usb cable. That would be my order, FWIW.
  7. This is very interesting - the Regen is supposed to cutout the 5v from the input. The Corning USB has the 5v carried along the fiber and uses it to convert the fiber signal at the end. So, cutting the 5v doesn't seem to do anything. I only thought cutting the 5v from the start, so no 5v along the data, would make a difference.
  8. Alex, did you say uber Regen will be special?!
  9. When I use ultracap to power the regen which in turn powers my Usb dac, would the ultracap have enough capacity to power both?
  10. Can anyone share what app can be used to control m.rendu with tidal integrations? Thanks
  11. Alex, at 350-400 for the mystery, if I needed 2 outputs, wouldn't it make more sense if I just get a js-2? The difference becomes <200. Or the mystery is better than js-2
  12. Sounds like you will tell what we want to know pretty soon?
  13. Alex, will you put me on the list now? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
