  1. Yep. I agree, and like I stated before, the best way to kill it is to "open the masses eyes" so we have one, huge, singular, voice. How do we do that? Drop the pure corporate greed and bring us into the 21st century with atleast CD quality music so the loudness is realized... Any better ideas?
  2. The only way you can be immune to the "loudness wars" is if your stuck in the 70's or listen to an incredibly slim choice of genres/artists. Why do you appear to be so offended by this topic anyway? Just curious. I'm complaining because I'm tired of listening to crap that has been murdered in the studio. That does affect everyone, unless there's a super secret record label that requires a special handshake to download from. CDs still have the loudness....
  3. Didn't the generation older than you say the same thing about your music? Yep. How about the generation before them? Same thing too. My music is better than yours. Right.... That's not the problem at all.
  4. Nice try, but that still has nothing to do with why mp3's are still here. It's not just my personal problems, it's a problem for the whole audiophile community in general. What's so wrong with pushing forward into the 21st century by having Apple take initiative, since they practically monopolize the audio masses? Get rid of the mp3 players, push lossless CD material as a minimum and people will notice how crappy compressed music sounds, which means studios will stop mastering beautiful music into bloody bits of garble. People have to hear it first, before they know what they're missing. Sheesh... Oh, and it's not like the "lossless" material should cost extra either. Matter of fact, alot of digital albums are more expensive than their physical CD counterparts. It's flat out greed, not a technology problem.
  5. Ok guys, go ahead and pretend you know more than I do and NOT tell...FFS. Apple is a leader in their market, everything else will follow. Just like it has for the past 10 years. Is that not logical to you guys? /bonk head
  6. What has perpetuated the dreaded mp3? There's your answer...
  7. Exactly my point. Why are you carrying around two devices? Because Apple wants you to buy two. Why do we have compressed crap for music, instead of the original they were given or was made previously? Because Apple wants you to buy two. Screw you Apple, and your greedy business plan keeping us in the early 1990's. Is that too honest to handle Apple?
  8. Millions of people are carrying iPhones around as an all-in-one, making the iPod rather dated. If there's a way to track purchases in the itunes store by device, i'll wager that over 75% of music purchases are downloaded to an iphone.
  9. Thinking about it now, it's Apple. They are the ones that keep skimping on HDD space (plus no SD cards) and the dumb "mastered for iTunes" crap has got to stop. Apple, please wake the F*** up and show us what your company is really capable of instead of milking us like cows... Better yet, I wouldn't mind seeing a different company rise up through the ranks and release us from these shackles. Hmmm....I smell an opportunity for Amazon, they seem well poised to handle the demand The Amazon "aPhone"?
  10. Yeah, i agree. This is the 21st century. Who are the idiots responsible for the dumb step backwards (loudness/poor mastering) anyways? Is it really still the mp3 generation with all this affordable high end gear and music around? Time to get with the times and really let technology bust out it's strengths, instead of its exploitations..
  11. Best: 1) The feeling of complete satisfaction with an audio component where "it just makes sense and sounds so effortless" 2) JRemote! 3) An incredibly comfortable listening chair with a favorite drink Worst: 1) Loud Thunderstorms and brown outs 2) Equipment that gives off loud clicks and screeches - aka Tweeter Killers 3) Audio deisingners' fascination with several/bright LEDs, like we are moths or something lol!
  12. Maybe I can help. To switch to gapless playback in JRMC; Tools>Options>Audio>Track Change then change the 3 settings to Gapless - and check both boxes One more thing, have you tried just running JRMC's Media Network (DLNA/UPNP)? Good luck
