  1. AudioQuest did not understand what an advanced device they had commissioned. The original brochure is wrong, and has been revised. Thanks for listing your source. Dragonfly revised Ammarra suggests setting the Amarra Volume to full volume if you do not want to lose any sound bits. Amarra FAQ
  2. Stereophile compares the DragonFly to the Halide HD (AudioQuest DragonFly USB D/A converter | Stereophile.com). Concludes the more expensive converter "sounded like a more expensive converter, while at the same time tarnishing not at all the humbler product's extremely good performance and value."
  3. Sorry about that yes of course, my apology. They should all by-pass it now, because there is no internal DAC on the new iPhone 5, the fifth-generation iPod touch, and seventh-generation iPod Nano?
  4. If for some strange reason you wanted to carry around all of that junk. Apple includes with the new iPhones and iPods a USB-to-Lightning-connector cable. So you could probably have your Posse carry the iPhone, go into the Lightning-to USB-connector cable, plug the giant Dragonfly into the USB end, and then the Pre-amp, Amp, and Speaker Cabinets. This should provide audiophile quality sound to your new portable, 20% thinner, light weight, iPhone5.
  5. Why would you want to put a Dragonfly on an iPhone? Look the 99 cent cable is also available. The point is, will the connections that you suggest degrade the signal, did you test them? We assume the Dragontail (already in production), will let all of the music coming into a Dragonfly Dac, flow through without degrading anything.
  6. Lightning to 30-pin Adapter - $29.00 The Lightning connector is used for the iPhone 5, the fifth-generation iPod touch, and seventh-generation iPod Nano. Apple’s Lightning connector does not support analog audio-out, but the 30-pin adapters do. With the adapter you get support for analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Hidden inside each 30-pin adapter is a Dac that converts the Lightning connector’s digital audio signal to an analog version.
  7. That is the point, a lessor grade path might not contain all of the bits. There is no way, in spite of what AudoQuest originally had in the owners manuel. There is no way the Dragonfly can restore bits lost in transit! As far as the iPhone goes '
  8. In a private dem, I auditioned the difference made by substituting an AudioQuest Forest iPod–USB cable ($35) for Apple's ubiquitous white cable. Oh my (God)! Given that the standard iPod cable costs $25 as a replacement, the extra $10 buys you so much more music, it was scary. ~John Atkinson
  9. Sometimes I listen all of the time everywhere. Sometimes not. Multiple systems appropriate to the location. I still cringe when I open the door or turn the key off in the car expecting the tunes to stop. But because I usually wear stage-monitors in the car now, the music keeps right on playing.
