  1. I agree 100%. Let's initiate a campaign to calibrate ear drums.......
  2. I live in Bloomington, IN and have been curious about nearby members myself. Are you trying to organize a get together? Surely there are some folks in the Cincy/Indy area that are members.
  3. What he said! You have to keep that "Grandfather of Grunge" in the back of your head while listening......krispy? Always on the edge when he played electric.
  4. I left B'ton briefly from Fall '97---'99; lived in Bloomington MN of all places. Used to drive through Bloomington, Il to get there when coming back to IN....confused yet?
  5. Plan to read his new autobiography soon Waging Heavy Peace: Neil Young: 9780399159466: Amazon.com: Books When did you leave B'ton?
  6. Had to download Weld from iTunes for now.....couldn't wait. Great collection of Crazy Horse live. Thanks
  7. Surely you remember the line...." it's hotter than Heater in Hellmouth today" (FT), which is how I would describe your new listening room, hot!
  8. Thanks HyperBeam, and Chris. I didn't think too much about the process, just figured the files were compressed and the conversion opened them back up........still lots to learn, and I truly appreciate this Blog.
  9. You can convert the file to Lossless in iTunes by right clicking on a single file or select the whole album. It will save both the low complexity, and Lossless files. I then delete the low complexity files. You need to delete the files on your other devices and resynch to get the Lossless files transferred.
  10. Thanks everyone for the conversation.....Brunk brought up some serious points for me to consider.
  11. Brilliant....thanks for your input.
  12. I should have been more specific about my query..... I was thinking along the cable upgrade line. Seems to me a $300.00 US pair of cans should be a starting point. The cables that came with my AKG 550 cans that I just bought probably are fine for my entry level Audio Engine DI DAC with Kimber USB cable, but as I start upgrading (new DAC/Amp this fall) I would like to tweak all of my cables. New cans will brobably be in the way to go though. I liked your opening sentence....good visuals.
  13. At what price point do you think headphones should have detachable cables?
  14. I too am an Amazon Prime member, and spoiled as well. I've place two orders with The Cable Co., and really appreciate their incentive program. I think 4est hit it on the nose re: inventory, and the associated cost.
  15. Excellent point. I'd be a nervous wreck trying to manage that inventory.
