There will always be many differences in SQ compared. Problem 1: Computer Hardware Problem 2: MAC OS version and settings, such as iTunes makes SQ problems, if any, is installed. iTunes must be uninstalled completely! (my experience) Problem 3: again hardware, USB chip on MacMini is different than MBP or MacPro, Thunderbolt is much better than USB, Thunderbolt new Intel chip are much better than the first versions etc

For me, in comparison with 1.5.12 SQ of Audirvana 2.0 is much better. MBPro 2013, 8GB RAM, Thunderbolt Port, Devialet 200

I tested last weeks intensive which Apple computer equipment would be best for audio streaming , prerequisite was Thunderbolt connection and Audirvana player. Mac Mini 2012 Macbook Air 2012, 2013 Macbook Pro 2012, 2013 iMac 2011 2013 I have several days heard and compared several times and criss-cross . The worst devices and I would never recommend the use of high-end audio streaming , were Mac Mini and Macbook Air also last models ( new models can, however, change) Much better were the iMac , current model is much better than the previous iMac model. Absolute winner and even now my favorite Macbook Pro 2013 with Thunderbolt ports 2 , Macbook Pro 2012 is slightly worse than the current iMac. The new Macbook Pro 2013 offers extremely increase in audio quality, sound is much , much more natural , you hear more detail , resolution and fine resolution achieved almost real quality of life , and much more .... Obviously , that new Thunderbolt 2 technology offers even more potential in the audio range than predecessors. Direct USB connection is always worse than Thunderbolt . I'm trying to test in the coming months, the new Mac Pro. Thanks for reading .

I have iMac 21, 2013, Audirvana Plus, Weiss INT202, Devialet 170 with USB input (XMOS chip and more ..), Apogee DA16X Firewire, Apple Thunderbolt/Firewire Adapter, Belkin Thunderbolt Dock. Weiss INT202 with external power supply and Devialet are simultaneously connected with Belkin TB dock, Devialet sounds via USB better than Weiss INT202 to Devialet via AES, when I connect Devialet directly with iMac via USB, Weiss INT202 via AES is clearly better.

Yes, USB or Firewire converter, have significantly better sound if they are to mains via Thunderbolt adapter.

I have tested Belkin Thunderbolt adapter with Weiss INT202 FW adapter and USB input of the Devialet amplifier and also direct connection, Thunderbolt brings EXTREME improvement in all areas of audio playback. There is no turning back

Hello! I have D170 and Wadia intuition amp (power soft) Wadia sounds no worse than Devialet. Both amps are about equal in audio quality.

I've written last summer a lot about Thunderbolt adapter, with TB / FW adapter you doing 30-50% increase in sound quality. Thunderbolt is currently the best interface in the computer area, especially for audio and for video;)

That is a 12 inch extension cable. I have a BUNCH of FW cables with the white wire snipped internally. Let me know the gender and length needed and I will send you a proper male to male that is continuous. Looks like 9p to 9p from the text. I like opening up FW cables to look at the internal construction. Oyaide, Granite, Haurtian, and Pearstone are all very well constructed. Buy Thunderbolt / Firewire adapter, this is the best sounding connection
