  1. I gave it a few more days and then returned it. I must say if I had studied W4S's policies before I ordered I might not have bought a unit I had not heard that could not be returned for full purchase price. To me imposing a 15% fee if the customer is not happy does not imply that they have much confidence in their product. Anyway, I went back to the Bel Canto and I'm living happily ever after. The Mini Maggies are a difficult load, so my experience may not be relevant to other speakers, other setups, other ears.
  2. I received my mINT a few days ago and I've been playing music now nonstop for about 60 hours. The challenge in my system is to drive my Mini Maggies, a somewhat demanding 4 ohm load. My previous amp was a Peachtree iNova...a disaster with these speakers. Every vocalist sounded like they had a cold. It didn't really seem like to the top end was severely rolled off, but rather that the upper midrange was strongly emphasized. I know that sounds implausible, but there was definitely some unfortunate interaction between amp and speaker. I borrowed a Bel Canto C5i from my dealer and it showed what the Maggies are capable of. the differences were night and day. But I thought the lower price, higher power, and additional flexibility of the Wyred 4 Sound unit would be advantage over the Bel Canto. Since it uses the same basic amp modules as Bel Canto, I expected/hoped the sound would be comparable. So far, that's not the case. I'm hearing funky transients and hash around all sibilants. In their owner's manual W4S states that after 100 hours of playback the unit will start to "shed the initial brightness and somewhat harsh transitions." I certainly hope so, or it's going right back to the maker, and I will be out their 15% restocking fee (which I don't particularly care for. any advice, feedback, suggestions from anybody here?
