  1. Cans:Sennheiser HD800 with stock cable for the moment Audeze LCD-2 Rev.2 Rosewood with Moon-audio Silver Dragon Ver.3 (Thinking of buying the Audeze LCD-3,any comments if i should take the plunge or not?? ) Amp:Burson HA-160D with John Kenny MK3 modded M2Tech Hiface 1 USB to S/PDIF converter powered by LiFePO4 battery
  2. Regarding the power adapter,i saw on the Origen website that there is a power adapter delivered wth the M10 case that would power the included 150w power supply.Would this power adapter be suited to power the up the Jetway motherboard or do i still have to buy a better suited power adapter.I saw this power adapter from seasonic -> Seasonic Power Adapter 60 Watt (12V) prijzen | Core | Tweakers.net Pricewatch Is this ok oe what other power adapters do you recommend.Note that i'm from Belgium (Europe) and i can't get that casetronic power adapter here.
  3. Hmm,so you have an iMac style HP with Windows 7. Did you try to hookup a USB hub to a free USB slot and try your Hiface from the USB hub, maybe this would bypass your problem. Another suggestion is to dual boot your system and install Windows XP on it,to do this you must make a partition first with Paragon partition manager 11.this is a program you must pay for but a free alternative is to use the built-in Disk Management tool in Windows 7. Restart your system and boot from your Windows XP cd and install the Windows XP OS on your newly made partition. From there you can install Foobar or J. River media center and the Hiface drivers and see if this resolves your problem. I hope this will help,if not then i suggest to save up for a new PC or Mac and sell that piece of s... of a HP
  4. Did you try the Hiface on another pc to see if the same problem occurs, this could rule out the unit is defective or not.
  5. Hi there Legend,i'm sorry to hear about your problem. I have a John Kenny MK3 wich is a heavy modified Hiface 1 that runs on battery. Not so long ago John Kenny anounced that the Young driver from M2tech would work with the Hiface 1 Here is the explanation he wrote on his website: Go to the M2tech Young driver & download it & run setupWith the device plugged in & working, Go to Device Manager & right click on the Hiface & choose properties - choose the driver tab - choose update driver - choose "Browse my computer for driver" - now you need to choose the option that says "Let me pick from a list of drivers". There is a checkbox that you need to turn off "show compatible hardware" Scroll down to M2tech in the left window & the Young driver should be seen in the right window Windows will warn you that "this driver may not work with this device" but go ahead - it's worth it. The USB port that you do this on will always use the Young driver - any other USB port will use the Hiface driver (unless you install Young on it ) Maybe this driver will work with your unit,if not then i guess you have a faulty unit and you should contact the store who sold you the unit and ask for a exchange with a working one or better yet ask for a Hiface 2
  6. How could i share the files stored on my external thunderbolt WD my book drive when i use bootcamp on the same Macbook pro to boot into windows 7.This wouldnt work i guess because i can only use one OS at a time. Man,this is getting complicated. On the other hand i found out that using the exFAT file system allows me to read/write on both Windows 7 and anything equal or above OSX 10.6.5 Snow Leopard so that should do it right?
  7. Thank you for the advice,on the choise of the file system matter now. When i format the drive to HSF+ and have macdrive installed in windows 7 would i be able to see and play the files with J. River media center 16 (its a bitperfect audio player like Audirvana but for windows)
  8. ok,sounds like it is going to be a Macbook Pro Retina if there is really not a big difference between all of these. I won't be using the optical out anyways and i have my windows home server for my downloading needs,i will be hooking up my John Kenny MK3 (a modified Hiface running on battery) to one of the usb slots and from the JKMK3 to the SPDIF of my Burson HA-160D headphone amplifier. Only question remains in what file system (like NTFS,FAT32,HFS+ journaled) should i format the Western Digital My Book thunderbolt 6TB .I want to use this unit in both Windows 7 and OSX so the audio files could be read in both Windows 7 (with J.River media center 16) and in Apple OSX (with Audirvana + or Amarra)
  9. I have the same dilema ,mac mini or the new MBP retina. Money is not an issue but would love some more people to comment in this thread about the difference in sound quality between the MM and MBP. I'm planning to buy a Western digital My book Thunderbolt 6TB but what file system should i format the unit to as i to want to use boot camp to use Windows 7 J. River media center 16 and OSX with Audirvana +
  10. I sure hope they will be back in business soon or later,i was planning to buy me a M2M music server. Ah well, patience is a virtue!!
