  1. And what a cracking album it is too! The guy is very talented.
  2. Lots of very notable labels are actually on bandcamp as well, such as Ninja Tunes, Planet Mu, R&S Records, hyperdub, Editions Mego, DFA etc.. I agree it would be great if the resolution would be indicated as sometimes you don't get the high res files, even if they are available elsewhere ...I am looking at you My Morning Jacket! :-( Some artists do take it upon themselves to indicate resolution, e.g. Alexis Perälä's amazing Colundi Sequence, most of it being 24/192: https://aleksiperala.bandcamp.com/music The rest is just pot luck. The simple truth is: not enough people care what resolution they get, most probably still download mp3.
  3. No problems on my MBP with A+ on El Capitan.
  4. I love bandcamp. In my opinion, it has been one of the best things to happen to the music industry in recent years. It is great for fans and artists. I bought my first bandcamp album in 2012, and now have 439 albums in my collection. I am starting to see more labels that had an early presence on bandcamp (such as the excellent Paradise of Bachelors) become more established in mainstream commercial channels. I am also seeing some bigger labels adopt bandcamp, so they must also see the virtue of this service (e.g. Planet Mu, Ninja Tunes, R&S Records). I love that you can get high res downloads (I have many 24-bit 192khz from the wonderful Aleksi Perälä) and that streaming purchased albums works flawlessly. I love their website...as mentioned, it is easy to navigate and download. The ability to follow and see other fan's purchases has opened up so many new musical avenues for me. The only thing I would welcome at this stage would be a bandcamp app for iPad and more clarity over the bit depth/sample rate of digital downloads. Bandcamp: I love you. Please don't change (apart from the two points I mentioned above ;-)).
  5. Seems this one has been requested over and over again: Please include "Sort Artist" and "Sort Album Artists" tags so that users can fix the sorting to their liking, e.g. The Beatles coming under B rather than T; artists names beginning with a lower case letter e.g. wAgAwAgA, senking, or μ-Ziq appearing in the correct order rather than right at the end after z; Artists with accented first letters appearing in correct order rather than after z e.g. Ásgeir. Damien: this has been requested since 2.0 was released....please could you make this happen? Merci! :-)
  6. Plus Nils Frahm....he does not seem to put a foot wrong at all these days. Looking forward to hearing his collaboration as "nonkeen"...The a Gamble album is out today.
  7. I second Jon Hopkins and Nicholas Jaar. The latters recent release on R&S (Fight) was very nice. I would love to hear more Darkside stuff though. I'm listening to a lot of DJ Stingray (313) at the moment. Really great Detroit electro. I am also really digging a couple of albums made almost entirely using only a Buchla Music Easle synth: Donnacha Costello's "Love From Dust" and Anthony Child's "Electronic Recordings from the Maui Jungle Vol 1". The latter in particular is blowing me away, as is his recent release (From Farthest Known Objects) under his Surgeon alias. This is the squelchiest, most organic and alien sounding Techno I have heard for a while, and is probably going to be a 2016 aoty contender for me...if it isn't, then 2016 will be a great year for electronic music.
  8. Metadatics is another versatile tag editor for Mac. It can also search Amazon cover art and musicbrainz.
  9. Anyone feel there is a bit of low end missing with 2.3?
  10. I would recommend removing the folder containing those albums that you have edited. Allow A+ to automatically re-sync or trigger it manually. Once the offending albums have disappeared from the player, just add them back where they were and re-sync again. This normally resolves these types of issues for me.
  11. Same here. Audirvana works like a dream for me. As mentioned above, Doug's scripts helped me to easily and quickly fill in all the gaps in my existing metadata that was left by iTunes. Now, metadata management is quick and easy for me using XLD and Metadatics.
