  1. Wondering if anybody else has this problem with Audirvana. Audirvana stops at the end of tracks and prevents my DAC from functioning. DAC stops working with my Mac and linux machines. However, physically unplugging my Peachtree DAC-IT and plugging it back in seems to jolt it back to life. I am using only iTunes and Rhythmbox now which do not glitch the DAC. I paid good money for Audirvana 3 and the previous versions have never done this, so I am rather annoyed at this issue.
  2. Sierra runs hot on my early 2011 MBP. I turned Siri off and it helps. Barely keeps with some movies. With the first install of Sierra; my old Mac was in danger of overheating.
  3. Well Gonzbull, I did a wipe and reinstalled everything and it seems to have done the trick. Audirvana stops occasionally however and like everything else with Sierra runs hot.
  4. Hey guys, I have Sierra and Audirvana 3 all up to date. I have noticed via USB connection to my Peachtree DAC-IT a serious drop in sound quality. Music shifts from speaker to speaker and gets scratchy as well. Going back to El Capitan seems prudent now provided Apple still supports it and Audirvana 3 works. Apple wants their giant leap forward and seems to want to leave us USB Neanderthals in the dust. USB issues with Sierra seem quite common on the net.
  5. I sort the same way. Tracks are in the wrong order in playlist. Playlist cannot be sorted manually. Imported playlists from iTunes and they should be a carbon copy should they not? Audirvana sounds great but iTunes sorts like a champion. I use AIFF and ALAC mostly. Love the replay gain feature of the new release but sort order issue really irritating.
  6. I would agree with you sir. Definitely an improvement but as to the new download not being fully 24/96 it's irksome. The fuzziness I heard during my first play through doesn't seem to be present which I also find to be a defect in a number of artists works and it drives me nuts.
  7. Well Sir, your efforts are appreciated in bringing this matter to a close. My Halide Design Bridge is a quality product and still functional. It is unfortunate the business dried up and went kaput. I hope their future endeavours work out well.
  8. Stopped responding to emails. Sounds like the news is bad news. Looks like I will have to look elsewhere when it is time to upgrade.
  9. I see that the website domain is still registered. However, products are nowhere to be found and it's like everything about them is gone. Just like to to know WTF happened? Are they coming back?
  10. They've been down for quite some time. Nobody here seems to know anything and I can't find any info online.
  11. Just curious, you guys might know. Did they go out of business, embezzlement or sickness or website/company revamp? Can't find any info as everything about them seems to be dead.
  12. I smell. If anybody pays attention to dead threads MADNESS. I fiddle with my audiophile habit so problems unless super critical don't drive me insane. So, upon further research into my problem I have discover the pile of poo that it is. I have learned of the phenomenon with modern CD recordings called clipping. Apparently this is due to faulty mastering of the CD. Upon reading the description of what occurs this is whats happens when the tracks are played. The distortions are present irregardless of type of computer used to play them or speakers used/gear etc. Clipping occurs on many CDs/ artists work. Yuck. Not my gear
  13. So, computer is fine. Dug up an ancient pair of speaker from the 90s and hooked them up and got no scratchy noise. So, most likely the tweeters on my PSB Alpha B1s are screwed (long past warranty). With a C1 and two LR1 rears would suffering occur with Image B6 fronts as replacement?
