  1. Thank you for your time and advice. However, considering I got my capable PS3 for 150 bucks, those Blu-Ray player solutions go to me from expensive to super expensive. I think I'm going to try making my PS3 do the job a little longer ! Thank you anyway.
  2. Yes, I've just learned the thing was possible. Would you be kind enough to advise me a cheap and capable Blu-Ray player and give me a link that would explain the whole procedure, then ?
  3. Hi, Due to incomprehensible SACD ripping issue (http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f11-software/ps3-sacd-ripping-strange-issue-help-29615/), I think I'm going to try to reinstall the whole thing from the scratch, including the Original 3.55 PS3 Firmware. That is : "rolling back" from OtherOs to the Original 3.55 firmware (moved into a USB Thumb Drive) though the recovery menu and then reinstalling OtherOs and Sacd Ripper. I'm so desperate that I cannot think about doing anything else. Is anyone sees something potentially dangerous in doing this ? Thanks in advance.
  4. Thanks. Yes, I've tried several SACDs. I don't have a normal log close by at the moment to compare with. What "usb002" or "dev_usb002" is supposed to refer to ?
  5. Hi folks, due to repeated ylods, I had to get a new compatible PS3 for ripping and install Sacd ripper (my previous PS3 had already it pre-installed). While everything seemed absolutely normal during the process of installing OTHEROS, Sacd ripper and the keys, following in it Ted's guide step by step, the resulting ISOs seem unable to play (with Audirvana or JRiver) or convert into separate DFF or DSF files (with ISO2DSD). I systematically get sacd logs that show something went wrong (I'm thinking about the line that mention "authentification failed"). See this exemple : "‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: SACD-Ripper Version 0.3716908381[0x102005d]: config: 00 00 00 0c ‪00 00 00 00‬ ff ‪41 00 04 00 00 00 00‬ ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: 75 6e 6e 61 6d 65 5c ‪10 80 00 00 00 00 53‬ a0 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪80 00 00 00 10 12‬ 9e ‪70 80 00 00 00 00 58‬ b0 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 01 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪00 00 08 00 00 00 00‬ ‪01 00 01 01 00 00 00‬ 00 01 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: disc inserted.. ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: 00 00 00 0c ‪00 00 00 10‬ ff ‪41 01 04 00 00 00 00‬ ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: 75 6e 6e 61 6d 65 5c ‪10 80 00 00 00 00 53‬ a0 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪80 00 00 00 10 12‬ 9e ‪70 80 00 00 00 00 58‬ b0 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 00 00 00 00 1a 7f 5e ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪00 00 08 00 00 00 00‬ ‪01 00 01 01 00 00 00‬ 00 01 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: Album Title: Johannes BRAHMS, String Quartet No. 2 Op.51 - Stri ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: Album Artist: PRAZAK QUARTET - Vladimr BUKAC, viola II ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: Disc Version: 01.20 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: 00 00 00 0c ‪00 00 00 10‬ ff ‪41 01 04 00 00 00 00‬ ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: config: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: 75 6e 6e 61 6d 65 5c ‪10 80 00 00 00 00 53‬ a0 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪80 00 00 00 10 12‬ 9e ‪70 80 00 00 00 00 58‬ b0 00 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪00 00 00 00 00 00 00‬ 00 00 00 00 00 00 1a 7f 5e ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: device_info: ‪00 00 08 00 00 00 00‬ ‪01 00 01 01 00 00 00‬ 00 01 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: succeeded. raw_spu number is 0 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: succeeded. entry d0 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: Establishing the interrupt tag on the interrupt PPU thread. ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: ioctl_report_key1[‪45023901‬] 0 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: sac_exec_generate_key 0 c9 0 ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: ioctl_send_key[2] c9 ffffffff ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: sac_exec_key_exchange (0xffffffff) ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: authentication failed: ffffffff ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: Queuing raw: /dev_usb002/PRAZAK QUARTET - Vladimír BUKAC, viola II - Johannes BRAHMS, String Quartet No. 2 Op.51 - String Quinte.iso, start_lsn: 0, length_lsn: ‪1736542‬ ‪16908381‬[0x102005d]: disc ejected.." with ISO2DSD I get this kind of error messages : "ERROR Illegal stuffing pattern in frame:0 Completed: 1% (2.0MB), Total: 0% (178/4MB) at infMB/sec[0]: ERROR Illegal stuffing pattern in frame: 2[0]: ERROR: invalid segment length on frame: 3 [0]: ERROR: Illegal stuffing pattern on frame: 4" All the resulting DFF files (I get only one per SACD) have a size of 0Kb. 7. I eventually managed to get bit perfect results using Qobuz, SoundFlower and Audacity. I must have made a mistake somewhere. Sorry about this.
  8. Note that I managed to get bit perfect results using Sound Flower as a kernel extension and Audacity as a recorder. But only when comparing a file to the very same one played through JRiver (with bit perfect audio path). I never managed to get a bit perfect result using Qobuz streaming service vs a downloaded track. I wrote to Qobuz about this.
  9. I downloaded a single track from Qobuz and then captured the actual same track from the Qobuz streaming service through Audio Hijack, as you explained in this topic. Then, I did a null test with Audacity (phase inverting one track, mixing and rendering the two tracks, etc.) and got a weird result instead of a blank new track. My only doubt is that I might have failed in synchronizing the two tracks. I also did a null test comparing a track to the very same one played through JRiver (with bit perfect audio path) and captured with Audio Hijack. I also got differences between the two.
  10. I might have missed something but the few tests (null tests) I made tend to prove Audio Hijack doesn't allow real bit perfect capture...
  11. On my system, really, it doesn't work. All extractions end with uncompressed DSD files, "Convert DST to DSD" checked or not. I'm using ISO2DSD GUI on MAC OSX. Maybe the issue only exist on Mac, I don't know. I also noticed that with uncompressed DSD SACDs, like for instance the ones Sony made in the late 90's, the extraction process is indeed 5 to 10 times faster than with modern Muti-ch SACDs that are DST compressed. Note this isn't really an issue for me as I do want my ISOs to be extracted as uncompressed DSD. It was more a question of curiosity.
  12. One thing leave me very perplexed : the information page of the PS3 SACD ripper clearly recognize the SACDs I ripped as DST compressed. Bizarre you said Bizarre ? How strange it is...
  13. Thank you very much. I think it solves the mystery. Thank you also for your thoughts about "to extract or not to extract, that is the question." My personal main reason for extracting DSD single files from ISO is my disinterest for multi-ch. I believe a DSD stereo folder should be smaller than most ISOs - at least when they include multi-ch layer - and I'm desperately trying to save space on my HDD (avoiding in the same time any compressed formats, even lossless formats).
  14. Thank you for your help. That's what I thought after first attempt. The problem is that I tried a large selection of SACDs, including Multi-ch ones of quite large length (almost 80 minutes), so I'm pretty sure their content is DST compressed. Even with those SACDs, I always get the same DSD files from the ISO file, whether "Convert DST to DSD" is checked or not. I really don't understand why...
  15. Hi Ted, I ripped my first SACDs and converted resulting ISO files to single DSD files through ISO2DSD. Everything works absolutely fine. One things puzzles me, however : No matter which ISO file I try, checking or unchecking "convert DST to DSD" always results in the same files (DSF, DFF or whatever I chose) of exactly same nature and size. I must have missed something... Thanks
