  1. Thanks to you both for the advice. A friend of mine owns a Bryston 9BSST and you are right about brute force. He uses it to drive his Magnepan 3.7's and the sound is amazing. For my budget I think I'd probably be more inclined to go the Wyred4Sound route. The ST-500 seems like it might fit the bill nicely so thanks for that Audiogon link.
  2. I recently acquired some NHT Classic Threes from a friend who recently deployed overseas. I know they are notoriously power hungry speakers and require decent amplification. I am currently using an older Outlaw Audio Model 1070 receiver to drive them and while the sound is decent I am looking for suggestions on possible amplifier upgrades. It seems that Emotiva has a cult following of sorts and I'm considering an XPA-2 vs. a Wyred4sound ST-1000. The Wyred4Sound option is quite a bit more expensive. My budget is around $1500 max and I'd like to spend less if possible which has me leaning toward the Emotiva amp. Any advice would be appreciated.
