Hi all, I was ready to buy a lio-8 for dac, vinyl playback with digital riaa and dsp eq to correct a bit of my room issues. Reading the mytek thread and having 3terrabytes of great dsd to iso ps3 ripped sacds , I am wondering if the pure music dsd to pcm conversion through a lio-8 could be close to mytek playing dsd native (pure music dop streaming) Thank you for your help Nikos

Thank you both.. Finnaly I bought an impact twin. It's much better than the hiface and I think even better than my esoteric sa-60 as a redbook transport. Could you please give me more info about the external power supply? thanks

i170 is ok if your dac can handle jitter. hiface is a lot better. I have both.

If the Touch is so good in jitter specs, why the Evo is much better sonically?

Which one has better s/pdif out ? (better clock, less jitter,better power supply (Evo can take LifePo4 batteries), output transformer, whatever can make any difference) thanks

ok, I am a veterinary surgeon... so I have my own x-ray equipment! I was not very happy with my Hiface, so i decided to x-ray it. I think i have the one with the problematic small clock... what do you think?

in every dac with good jiter reduction circuits, or even better in a pwm amp with digital in, the AE is a nice option. in a nonos dac like mine, it's easier to hear the quality of different transports...

The wadia 170i/ipod combo is fine, but the digital output has a lot of jitter. You can easily hear the improvement if you reclock the spdif signal with a high quality external recloker. The optical out of a macbook macbook pro is not any better. your best option will be a macbook with a hiface or other usb to spdif or a macbookpro with firewire to spdif converter like int202 (weiss) or tcconnect twin impact (same chipset with weiss int202).

is the new AE better or worse than the older one in terms of jitter through its optical port?
