  1. Thanks Jud for the advice. I'm trying to setup up my computer with Audiophile Optimizer. As you may know this program improves sound quality by dramatically reducing processes of the operating system and Windows server 2019 suppose to be best sounding of Windows operating systems. I know Roon works with window server 2019 but find it to expensive and Audrirvana has been reviewed well. If worst comes worst probably unintall windows server 2019 and install windows 10.
  2. Has anyone successfully installed Audirvana 3.5 on windows server 2019? I have spent days trying to, including unsuccessfully downloading Ms- app insaller. the app windows requires when installing Audirvana from the web. Help!
  3. Hi. Trying to install Audirvana 3.5 trail on windows server 2019 but keeps telling me I need ms-appinstaller. So I go to the Microsoft app store to download but Microsoft wont allow me because you need a Microsoft account and Windows server procols dont allow you to use your personal account. Being a complete novice with server type architecture, was wondering weather there was a way of adding a services in the Service Manager Section to allow Audirivana to install or weather to install AO and then try installing Audirvana. If I thought Paid version would work would go ahead and buy. Not sure if this is related issue but Google Chrome wont install either. Computer crashing while installing. Help!
  4. Thanks Thuandb. I,m looking foward to getting it all together.
  5. My sound system has been collecting comb webs for over 12 months, Finally have time to listen but misfortune happened. Turned the media computer on after the initial start the dreaded blue screen. So need to do a clean reinstall. My original system was based around Wndows server R12, AO HQplayer, Roon and streamed through Microrendu. Would like to catch up on current thinking without going through all the threads, Windows server R16 with AO 2,20 seems to be the current favorite combination especially with Roon, Also wondering which evaluation version do you download. Thought I read somewhere wifi does not work in core mode with Windows server R16/Roon . Does this mean that you can't use your Smart phone as a remote with Roon?
  6. Because I am about to install an operating system, also interested in differences in sound quality, if any, between win 10 and Win server 2012R. Prefer to use win 10 because of it's obvious convenience.
  7. Not sure if this is a AO problem but I have installed and am trying to setup Roon , for the first time, on a window server 2012 based computer. Also using audiophile optimizer latest version 2.00 which does now recognizes Roon. Can't open Roon at all on this computer. Eventhough I am using the correct password, keeps saying password is unauthorized. I have reset this password many times and still does not work. Can,t log into my account either. This problem only exists on this computer. I can login into my Roon account on my other computer without any problems. This is where I first set up my account with Roon. . I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my account , computer or AO settings? Tryed Roon forum without any useful advice yet. Thanks Ian
  8. Thanks Phil. Yes already ordered and looking forward to it.
  9. Will installing AudiophileOptimizer 2.00 Beta 20 also work for the standard version of Windows Server 2012
  10. Thanks Dev, Looking forward to your assessment. I have a similar setup with clean power running directly to ram. Even if the sound quality was only on par with my current system it would be worthwhile in one aspect, that is the simplification of equipment and cleaning up the clutter in my living room by getting rid of number of power supplies and computers.
  11. Looking forward to a comparison with a highly optimized 2 computer system with JPlay and Audiophile optimizer
  12. As I have mentioned before, I have a JPlay, AO, 2 computer setup with Ethernet cable connecting them directly. To get the best from this type of setup both computers need to optimized and be supplied with clean power. With the microrendu acting as an end point and the Ethernet isolating noise from your music source does an optimized music server have any effect on sound quality or can any old computer be used.
  13. In the typical 2 computer Jplay/Audiophile Optimizer setup to get the best sound it is advised to optimize the hardware and to supply the cleanest power to both computers. If I decide to buy the microRendu my control PC in the above setup will perform a similar function in supplying a feed to the microRendu. in the Jplay/Audiophile Optimizer setup both computers are directly connected by land cable. What I was wondering is whether your music sever because it will no longer be connected directly but streams through the Ethernet, needs to be optimized in the same way that the Jplay/Audiophile Optimizer setup?
  14. If you mean money investment in software, probably around $200 or $300. The biggest investment is obviously hardware and how much of that would be superseded if I went with the microRendu.
  15. Thanks for your reply. Flexibility is not essential but on the other it would be nice to rationalize my system. Ultimately sound quality from my locally stored music collection is what is most important to me. However rather than trying to correct systems with inheritant noise and latency problems, as in the approach we have taken, it does seem beneficial to start from scratch as in the in the approach taken in designing of the Sonic Orbiter microRendu combination.
