  1. Good morning Chris. You use JRiver and tested sMS-1000. Could you enlightened me about that question I putted to Jesus: JRiver managed the metadata very well IMO. I have something like 3.000 CDs and more than half is from classical music, so I created a field named Grouping to group tracks from composer's work like "Korngold_1947_1952_Symphony.inF#+.Op40" (4 tracks from an album with 8 tracks and 2 works). This way I can search my library for each composer's work and listen the work that I am looking for. Is different when I will listen "Joni Mitchell_1971_Blue", because here the Grouping is the Album. Could I use that metadata structure with SMS-1000?

  3. I'm using JRiver and my metadata has a huge amount of information. Just to be sure: if I moved to sMS1000, I could use only Artists, Albums and Genres fields? (that's what I saw in PDF file Operating Instructions / LMS - My Music).
  4. I agree 200% ! When I think to have a musical lossless experience, I think in something closer to the live experience. Unfortunately, as I can hear in abundance, the engineering / mixing / mastering process has changed to "loud" albuns (besides problems with stage position, depth, airy, transparency etc.) The worst DR album from my JRiver library is 24/48 - like the 2nd worst.
  5. My 121 has burned 400 hours plus and my nowadays "critic listening" is through a Stax earspeaker powered by its own amp. And? It's fantastic! I am very happy with this marriage and it doesn't matters if I was listening the powerful "The Kennedy Experience", the classy Patricia Barber "Mythologies" or the dynamic Boulez "Pli Selon Pli", my system gives me all those little orgasmic pleasures so well-known to music lovers. I am a Wadia addicted and this DAC doesn't disappointed me - specially for that price.
  6. Chris, how could I pay through my credit card? I have no PayPal account.
  7. BTW, I have a JR license to my Win through Bootcamp and I didn't vote because I am not registered in JR forum.
  8. If you keep all features, I will move for sure.
  9. Well, just checked my upload rating and it stills at 1.13 (It means that nobody downloading from me last day) It has a scrape error: Tracker gave HTTP response code 404 (Not found) and it has only one tracker (http://tracker.amazonaws.com)
  10. I am seeding it.... Don't know why no one is downloading.
  11. The combined tracks played with no problem in my system, but IMO, it was a "hard" mix between variations 27 and 28. For sure if it was the artist choice, who am I to argue about that.
  12. I give up... The transition problem is there: 1'51"
  13. There's a new message at TOGV site: NOTE: All audio files downloaded before June 18, 2012 suffered from a minor imperfection in the transition between track 28 and 29. The final solution to this problem has been to combine the two tracks into one. The downloads in the table above all have 31 tracks instead of the expected 32. This is because track 28 contains both Variation 27 and 28. If you downloaded the files previously, delete tracks 28 and 29. Then, download the matching format from the list below. Add it to the playlist. You should then have 31 tracks with track 28 lasting 4:17. I am downloading and will check if it is OK now.
  14. As any OS can give you great sound, IMO first you should decide what Player to use: Mac, Windows or Linux based. I am a Mac user, but I choose JRiver as Player because its enormous functionality to manage my library with a large possibilities to personalize metadata (I am ripping 3k CDs to FLAC uncompressed and wanna reduce the cataloguing problem). This way I am going to Windows: now I am using bootcamp, but will go to the CAPS v.3.
