  1. No I have not done a Permissions Verification/Repair since upgrading, I will try this when I get home from work, thanks for the suggestion. I will repond with the outcome.
  2. Hello, Yes the path to the library is the Synology and yes I have checked both boxes. The fiiles that I have added to the new library are in the new directorty but they are not being displayed. I have read in other fourms that sometimes it takes awhile for them to show up, but it has been over a week now. I have not done anything other upgrade to Itunes 11 which was done by accident because I lilke to wait several months before upgrading, generally gives Apple an oppotunity to work out some of the bugs.
  3. Hello, I would like to know if I am the only one having issues accessing their music files since upgrading to ITunes 11. Prior to upgrading I had over 2.3TB’s of music and now it is showing that I have 1.98TB’s of music. I now get the dreaded ‘dead link’ warning, even though the files are still in the Itunes library and I have to point it to the file. This is extremely cumbersome because of the volume off affected files. I have all the files stored on a Synology 411+. I even tried starting a new library and adding the music files but some files are getting copied over and are not showing up in the library. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what is the fix? Is there one? I am unable to restore to a previous point because none of the files are store on my Mac Mini. Thanks, Jason
  4. Hello, Are there any options for power cord upgrades for pre-2010 mini? Jason
  5. Hello, Does anyone have any experience with Simaudio DAC's? If so which one? The 100D or 300D? Sound quality versus others? The DAC will be hooked up to a Mac Mini by an optical cable to the DAC and then Linn interconnects from the DAC to a Linn Classik DI. Thanks for any and all input. Jason
  6. Thank you!!! It worked and everything is there.....until the next update. All this to update my IPad. Thanks, Jason
  7. ...well it is 10 hours later and I am at 25%, any advice? The Mini is connected to the router by Cat6 cable, router to DroboShare by cat 6 cable. I am open to any advice....PLEASE!!!!! Jason
  8. Hello, Have you considered a Linn Classik Movie? They have been discontinued but you can find them online at a fraction of the price of what they were new. They have a small foot print, great sound and have everything in one package, except they do not play Blu-Ray. Here is a link to some reviews: http://linn.co.uk/product_reviews/product_id/280 Jason
  9. Hello, Well 23 hours later ITunes is not responding, re-boot the mini and start the whole process over, it was at almost the half way point. Now it is checking the Itunes library, this will take awhile, hope to have my music by Friday. So all the Itunes files are stored on the mini, all music is on the drobo, the mini is connected to the dlink router by cat 6 cable, drobo is connected to a drobo share which is connected to the Dink by cat 6 cable, where is the problem? It is the latest mini, 4gb of ram, nothing else running, the drobo shows up as a shared drive, no other software running, no drobo apps, nothing, what could be wrong? I have no problems streaming music once it is updated. ....Itunes is finished checking the library....now everything is fine...playing tracks with no problems.....odd....very odd. I am not touching anything, need a drink, some music and now relax, do not question what is out of your control. Thanks for the replies, guess mother nature just needed to run its course. Jason
  10. Hello, The Drobo is connected via the Droboshare, to the router by cat 6 cable. Jason
  11. Hello, I have about 700GB's of music stored on my Drobo, the actual ITunes library files are on my Mini which is connected to the router via cat 6 cable. I dread updating ITunes because it takes upwards of two days to update the library, is anyone else having this issue? What can I do to speed up the process? Thanks, Jason
  12. Thanks for the info, the main reason I did not consider the Ayre QB-9 is because there is no dealer around me, I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This is a DAC I will be considering now, I just have to find a way of auditioning it. Thanks, Jason
  13. Has anyone reviewed all three in the same environment? I will be purchasing a DAC within the next month and would like to hear some of your thoughts on which one is the best type for my setup. It will be used in the following system: Mac Mini -> Unknown DAC via Kimber Silver USB ->Linn Silver RCA Connects to Linn Classik Di
  14. The MBP connects wirelessly to the network and I stream music wirelessly to the AE which is connected to the amplifier via the TOSLink. D-Link -- wireless --> Macbook -- wireless --> AirPort Express -- TOSLink --> AMP The goal is to incorporate a Mini to act as the sole media server which will be connected to a DAC (have not picked one up yet, either Bryston BDA and a PS Audio) and the DAC will connect to the amplifier. Music files are stored on the Drobo which is connected to the D-link via Ethernet cable.
  15. This is my current set up: MacBook Pro, Drobo and Drobo Share connected to a D-link DIR-628 RangeBooster N Dual Band Router by Ethernet that streams to a 2 year old AirPort Express Base Station via N speed, I am fairly sure it is at 5G. With this set up I experience some drop out, my question is I am considering the new Mac Mini to replace the AirPort Express Base Station and then to use the AE as an extender, will this eliminate the drop out? Or should I just go directly from the router to the Mini, wireless? Is the mini also prone to drop out? The router is about 30 feet from the system, almost in a direct line, the walls are plaster, not drywall. Thanks, Jason
