Had one of these lying around. Put it under my mini... lowers the normal operating temp by a good 10-20 deg.

While listening to previously imported music, I frequently get playback gaps in iTunes while importing Cds. Anyone else have this problem? If so, solutions? Running an 2011 MacMini, SSD, 8GB RAM, Mtn Lion, iTunes 10.7 iTunes (solo - no PureMusic, BitPerfect etc) No other programs running Thanks in advance.

After nearly a year of designing, constructing and finishing, I'm finally listening! Thankfully I like what I'm hearing. As my first post on CA I thought I share what I'm listening to. It's a computer based ( Mac Mini/BitPerfect)DIY system built around The ScanSpeak Illuminator series mid and tweet and their Revelator sub. The system is fully active with a DEQX as the pre/processor and 300w x 10 channels (into 4ohms)f Denon amp. Bass cabinets are sealed and constructed of plain old MDF with a matrix type bracing system and 2.25" thick walls. The mid/tweet are also sealed, constructed of a MDF/fiber cement/MDF sandwich for for the tops and bottoms, and a MDF/sand/MDF side walls. Heavy yes, but very dead. Initial sounds are excellent, but with the tremendous power of the DEQX, infinite crossover and EQ options, the fun is just beginning.

The Never Ending Equipment Cycle: Speakers
-Ryan- replied to Paul R's topic in Headphones & Speakers
Lived with a pair for a couple years. Small, dynamic, with a -3db of 44hz. A pair with stands is currently listed for $3200 over at Audiogon - Add a pair of subs down the road and I think you'd be quite happy. good luck
