1. Thanks Kenneth, that's very useful to know. I will continue my battle with MF support. Thanks for all the information.
2. I tried using a different and newly-formatted USB stick - seemed to work OK. I will carry on experimenting.
3. That sounds familiar - although I haven't noticed it for a while so maybe one of the updates sorted that out. I think they've got a fair way to go on various aspects of the interface as well. I'm sure it would help the development of the product if they did set up some forum for users to make suggestions - or even publish an email address!
4. Thanks Kenneth - I will do. I tried the USB route last night and it seemed to work fine and then just cut out with a 'Source disconnected' message after about 6 minutes. I'll try a different USB stick.

Regarding the latest firmware update, I think the message on the website hasn't changed since the previous firmware update which did indeed make a major improvement to 24/192 flac performance (from completely unplayable on my Clic to just mainly unplayable). I phoned them up after the most recent update to check what it was meant to do and whether I should expect it to help with the hi-res issue. I was told it was just putting stuff in place for the App.

It would help if they had some sort of support website or forum themselves..
5. I'd given up trying USB after MF support told me that they'd decided it couldn't cope with such high resolution files, at least I thought that was what they said. I'll give it another go. According to support the latest firmware update was to prepare for the new App.
6. Thanks for a great review. I have exactly the same issues with higher resolution files. The frequency of drop-outs seems to depend on the complexity of the music. Some tracks and passages seem fine, others drop out several times a minute. Although even this is a dramatic improvement after the last but one software upgrade - they would hardly play at all before that. I have contacted support several times and they have said that they now realise the USB port will never cope with these rates, but that Ethernet should. I currently have my NAS drive about 18 inches from the Clic, with both connected directly to a switch - there are still drop-outs. MF support seem to think I am the only one that has this issue, so it's good to know that there are now at least two of us! Has anyone else got experience of playing these resolution files on the Clic - good or bad? I might be able to get a bit further with persuading support of the existence of the problem with some more evidence.
