    WAVs

Because as normal with people on forums when you're asking several different questions you get confusing and contradictory advice (probably because no one is actually a proper expert). So once I had muddled through my first issues I wanted to post another question - thats what forums are for my friend

    WAVs

I have a tone of WAV files which are all in a mess in one big folder. I want to convert these to AIFF files the same as my other music so its all the same (maybe the OCD inside me) but I use iTunes so I want something i can put them through first to add meta tags and album art work if possible? Suggestions?
  3. Ok guys, appreciate the help. One more question if you don't mind. Ive started to use XLD to convert some files and see how I get on, but it doesn't like the artist being dropped in. For example I have: File - ACDC Album inside file - Highway to Hell So if I drop 'ACDC' into XLD is does nothing with it, but if I drop 'Highway to Hell' into XLD it converts it perfectly, but then I have a file named an album rather than the artist, any suggestions? Am I doing something obvious wrong?
  4. So if I convert all my files to AIFF I shouldn't have a noticeable reduction in sound quality and it will sort out all my tagging issues? I could then use iTunes to play my music files? Any conversation SW recommendations? I assume its the conversion SW that adds the tags automatically?
  5. My files are a little all over the place, but all ripped from the original CD. I have my flacs and wavs on the same HDD, so seeing which is which isn't easy. If I convert them to AIFF will I loose quality? Is the only other way to simply convert just the wavs to AIFF? What conversion sw would you recommend? Should I convert the flacs too or is this unnecessary? Thanks for all your help
  6. Hello, I want to use my MAC to play back music which I already own on a hard drive. Its FLAC and WAV files I have. I-tunes wont see the flac files and doesn't like the WAV files because it cant categorise them and puts ALL the track ones and then ALL the track twos etc etc in big groups. After doing some research I think im going to try using JRiver, because its bit perfect playback and should handle my occasional 24bit 192kh files. But my question is are there a better way to manage my WAV files or is there SW available that WILL recognise the file host name? I know some hi fi product such as Sonos and Naim will see the file name and let me use the WAVS in a manageable way, but I want to use my macbook? Or should I just delete all my wav files if there is no way to manage them? I suppose all im really looking for is a bit of mac sw that allows me to browse music files like normal computer files, that way I could use my waves properly?
