  1. Thanks for the reply. The speakers actually take digital in, via a 3.5mm connection. This connection was originally connected to the sound card digital out from the PC with a male/male cable. I've seen several forums/videos of setups using the camera kit/usb port to get digital audio out. That sounds good, but can I get the digital audio out from the USB connection, and get it to the 3.5mm female connection on the Boston Acoustic speakers (the digital in is actually on the sub-woofer, and the other speakers connect to it as well). I didn't realize the input was digital until I tried to connect the iPad to the speakers via the headphone jack....no sound...and then I looked closer at the connection and it does say "digital in".
  2. Rook/novice here. I have a nice set of Boston Accoustic speakers from a recently dead computer. They take digital in via a single connector (3.5mm I think) from the PC sound card. Any way I can use the iPad camera kit/usb port to get audio to the speakers? Would be nice to use the speakers for something. There's also the question of price....at a certain point it would be cheaper to buy a nice dock, but I'd like to not have to do that. Thanks in advance to any advice!
