Hello Everyone,
I am new to computer audio and just recently started using my Macbook Air as a music server via USB DAC.
Now I consider buying Pure Music in order to be able to play FLAC files via ITunes.
Another option is to convert my FLAC/APE files to ALAC using XLD or Max and import them to ITunes.
My question is - in terms of sound quality are there any advantages of using Pure Music and avoiding file conversion?
What other advantages which I am not aware of does Pure Music provides in order to justify its price.
If converting formats via XLD or Max preserves the same sound quality, it would probably be better choice as it is free.
Sorry if this had been discussed before....I could not find anything in the archives.
