  1. Looking for my first dac, and would appreciate any advice or comparisons of these. They are both in my price range and generally have positive reviews. I'm a newb here, so feel free to point out the obvious. I've been reading many of the posts and feel like there is a lot of knowledge here that I'd like to draw from. Unfortunately I don't have a good dealer nearby so demos are not an option. Thanks
  2. I oversee all aspects of radiation safety for the treatment of cancer including the treatment planning and quality assurance involved. Also an NFL team owner...but that's not really work when you only own a very small fraction of the team. Favorite ice-cream is Blue Bell's cookie dough.
  3. Hi All, I've recently woken up and realized I need to upgrade my system a bit. I'm hoping some of you can hand out some advice...here's my situation: I have a pair of B&W DM 302's that are about 10 years old (in pretty good shape, but not perfect), a Denon reciever and a Sony SACD player that is almost never used anymore. Basically that is all sitting in my basement waiting for a home theater that isn't going to happen. I also have $1-2000 I could use to get new equipment as necessary, but I'm not looking to spend it all if possible (too many other hobbies to support). I would like a nice system for my home office which is really a living room used as an office. Obviously I will want to connect it to my computer and that will be it's primary input, but I may keep the CD player as well. I prefer to work/study to bluegrass and a little classical, but I listen to a wide variety of music. I'm planning to add a DAC, but beyond that I'm not sure where to go. Should I replace the reciever with separates or an integrated amp? Should I look at new speakers? Or a music server? Basically, where's the most bang for my buck going to be? Thanks.
