  1. In Mac OS X I've been ripping my CDs to .flac format with Max and using an Applescript 'Gracenote for Max' to transfer the metadata from iTunes to Max. That was because I preferred some of the results from the iTunes CDDB rather than what Max was suggesting in some of my more obscure indie CDs. There is nothing at all wrong with Max or the 'Gracenote for Max' script but somehow in the last 100 or so CDs, I must have rearranged the column order of the tracks in iTunes for each album and the .flac files have all been mislabeled - i.e. track 1 is now labelled track 4 misnamed as the track 4 name would be. Worse than I thought, when I look at the individual track metadata in something like Media Rage, I see it's all misnamed there too. I am pretty pessimistic about a batch fix for this one but if anyone has any good ideas short of sitting down and editing the last 1000 or so tracks then I would be very gratefu to hear it. Valuable lesson learned here.
