  1. Hello, I am a new here. Nice website for computer audio. Well, I bought Fujitsu T5010U. It is a tablet pc with Realtek HD ALC269 audio chipset. I found a setting for sample rate and bit depth. Its functionality is somehow mysterious to me. Initially, the setting is 16 bit 44.1 KHz. I know it is CD quality. The speaker sounds quite soft. When I raise the settings to 24 bit 192 KHz , the sound will be even softer but smoother compared to previous setting for this laptop. I notice the same thing too when I use sennheiser mx 500 or external speakers for comparisons. Anybody knows what exactly the setting does? I made comparison of realtek hd with external audio solutions for notebook such as x-fi notebook, x-fi surround, and asus U1 Audio Station. I have been wondering whether should consider replacing my notebook audio with these external audio solutions or stay with realtek. As far as I know, maximum sampling rate for both of the products are lower than realtek hd but signal to noise ratio is slightly higher than realtek hd with more fancy audio features and more ports to be used. Thanks.
