Greetings,
I've just discovered the existence of USB DACs. I also just ordered an ASUS Xonar Essence ST sound card.
I am going into a NAD T-175 Pre-amp and using J River Media Center.
From my minimal research it sounds like a USB DAC is generally a better option. I'm thinking I should be sending back the ASUS card and get myself a USB DAC. Can someone give me some reason to keep the ASUS card or go with a DAC?
If a DAC is the way to go what should I look for, any recommendations?
I see prices and brands all over the board. At this point in time $200 is about my limit at this point in time. Is that even enough for a quality DAC?
