  1. zorro, this is for my small bed room. I am not expecting a real high-end setup for this. I was wondering if anyone had tried more than one pair of A2 speakers to hook each other up and how they sounded... thanks for sharing your experiences with muti-pairing the P4 speakers though.
  2. Has anyone tried connecting another pair of Audioengine A2 speakers for the back? I think this will make great surround sound. If you have tried, did it work? thanks?
  3. Try the USB connection instead of optical. Optical gave me more issues like sound ticking with D1 when using optical connection.
  4. I was referring to the synchronous usb... Not sure about the Asynchronous... will have to do some digging so I can dispute about your faith on async USB... hehehehe I don't have the ultra perf USB cable. I was just saying in general about the USB cables. This isn't about faith. This is mother nature. Oh, and some of us experienced audiophiles have experienced in sound difference depending on the weather and time of the day. This isn't imagination. All this weather (temperature, humidity, dew point, and barometric pressure) conditions will have impact on how the audio is delivered as well. So what they experienced wasn't dreaming. It's for real. I am not sure about altitude.
  5. Jitter is like virus. So your army troops (body's immune system) has to stay strong so you don't get disease and die. Jitter is unwanted waste or chemical in the water or pops. You drink it and your liver (am I right?) filters bad naughty stuff and only pass through clean liquid that your body needs... bad stuff goes to urine and shit. Jitter is dust in the air but the hair in your nostrils help block / catch dusts and other unwanted evil particles. That's why the doctors tell you not to pull out your hair... High purity solid silver conductor is basically like concentrated soap, or windex cleaner so it kills those germs or so-called "virus" real good. It's a great water purifier because it catches 99.999% of dirt and other unwanted crap. It's a super strong liver so it can do better job filtering the food you eat sort them properly. In other words, jitter is EVERYTHING around you. As a result your body stays healthy and function correctly. Same goes true for the audio sound. You get "accuracy" in sound due to all this deflectors and filtration systems. Don't matter it's analog or digital transmission they are all affected no matter what. The level of sound quality varies depending on how good your soap is, or how good your water purifier is. Depending on how good it filters bad stuff, you get different taste in water. Same with the audio. They provide their own unique signatures. This is really, a mother nature. Or should I say, brilliant. Aa need to drop what you're doing and think about this for a minute. Nature can do some amazing things.
  6. Unhook HRT DAC and just connect directly from computer to speakers and see what result you get.
  7. New comers, read this. This explains all why digital transmission mean jack nothing --> http://www.altera.com/support/devices/pll_clock/jitter/pll-jitter.html Anyone doubts or don't believe about USB cable affecting sound quality, send them to this link. Or send them to me I'll give em good spanky!!
  8. In equalizer I only raise the highs, 4k by one notch, 8k by two notches, and 16k by three notches. Similar settings for the lows with the mid one notch below. If I don't use equalizer, it sounds ghey.
  9. dpstjp, I use the following: - Macbook Pro 13.3" - AudioEngine A2 speakers This is for nearfield listening. I don't use subwoofer on this setup. ............. though I am planning on getting a sub later.
  10. thanks scenicguy, but I have learned / realized that iTunes music store is ghey, cause they carry poor quality junk. I'm wanna get lossless stuff from other source. thanks
  11. Thanks for the info, dpstjp. Some audio files I have are FLAC and some are from CD's, and I'm planning to get more n more high quality files. 320 kbps is bare minimum in my standard. Question: Since Pure Music (or BitPerfect?) provides better sound quality, even with the use of iTunes equalizer, I should still get a bit better sound, right? For example: Without PM, you get 88% sound quality. With PM, you get 91% As long as there is a tinnie winnie gain I don't mind. But I gotta use equalizer as treble is lacking.
  12. Mark, Can I adjust equalizer after installing BitPerfect or Pure Music? Will equalizer work?
  13. Munchoba, I've been hesitant on installing anything as it might leave residue in my Macbook if I decide I don't want it and want to remove it... That's the kind of answer I was looking for. I like the sound of music open up. I'm getting interested.
  14. Zakus, calling someone troll you become troll. Didn't you know that? Instead of whining I suggest you post something more constructive, something that supports thread topic. Please stop trolling.... And that Audio Doctor isn't even worth for me to respond... thanks,
