  1. FFS just stand back and listen to yourself "I compare to a sound reproduction system that has been calibrated for accuracy" and "If I were to categorize from bass, mids to high frequencies, I listen for smooth bass response (+- 3dB tolerance)" and "My preference is for accurate sound reproduction so that the music arriving at my ears is as identical as possible to the music that is on the recording, regardless of format." This is writing for writings sake and I'd file it in the category 'the bleeding obvious'. Articles like this remind me of why I'm an infrequent visitor tbh. Back to the music for me I'm afraid.
  2. Are you serious? The artist got the royalty on the sale of the CD, there's no way of knowing if the buyer of the 2nd hand CD would have bought it at full price. Also the artist gets to show his wares to the 2nd user which may encourage him/her to purchase more of the artist's catalogue. Not as black and white as you're claiming I'm afraid.
  3. £19.99 per month in the UK, that's about $32.00! Good luck selling that proposition then! I tried the 7 day trial and, tbh, not that impressed. SQ is OK but at that price I don't really think it's going to sell.
  4. I use the above at my PC with a Nuforce Icon amp and Monitor Audio Radius speakers complemented by a Roth Audio sub. I'd like to connect the DAC to my main system (as it's wonderful) but it's usb input only. Is there a device out there that will convert an optical or coaxial digital output from my media player to USB so I can connect the two? Alternatively, is there a media player out there that outputs audio via a USB port? Thanks guys
  5. Seems to me some people take offence very easily, "I am ridiculed" where? You assume that when ejcpa said walkman he meant your CD Walkman. The point of the article is crystal; stop bickering about Apple and get on with listening to and discussing digital music making in a way that makes it accessible to the masses. Whether the guy has or has heard a CD Walkman like yours is perhaps not what the op wants to discuss?
