  1. Hi Guys, I have been lurking around here a bit trying to learn more about improving the sound quality from my PC. At the moment I just plug my headphones (Ultimate Ears Triplefi 10s) into the front socket on the computer case. Reading the forums here, and at head-fi, has shown me that buying a USB DAC would improve the sound quality, but would only give stereo sound, not any of the surround sound formats for movies or games. So here is my question? What should I get to improve my listening experience on my PC for $500-$1000? I probably watch more TV and films than I listen to music, and I wear my headphones pretty much all he time I am on the PC, so comfort is a huge priority. I had been thinking about buying the Asus Xonar Essence One and a pair of AKG Q701 headphones. Is this a good combo, are there better ideas? What else should I look into? Thanks PS: If I have missed some easy beginner link or similar post, sorry, but please could you post the link?
