  1. Thanks again Caleb- I appreciate your time and efforts. I'm starting to suspect you're right. M-ch into a 2-ch dac... I'll try finding a station that perhaps has 2-ch audio... However, I'm guessing it'll be a fool's errand. Thoughts anyone else? Any way to 'downgrade' the multi-channel signal to 2 channel?? I'm open to trying anything on this.
  2. Thank you for your reply. My dac is definitely only two channel. BUUUUT, I don't know if the Comcast box is putting out multi-channel or not. The only PCM option in the audio set up menu is L-PCM. Does this mean multi-channel? The analog RCA outs are two channel on the cable box... All suggestions welcome. Cheers
  3. Hello All, I'm hoping someone can help me... I'm trying to run the Tos digital from my HD cable box to my dac to my (2 channel/4 monitor speakers) receiver in order to achieve a little better sound out of my TV viewing and On Demand movies. When connected, all I get is a low thumming hum. The Tos port on the cable box seems to be in working order, or is illuminated anyway. The box is connected via RCA to the receiver currently. There's nothing wrong with the dac or the cable. As the Tos works from my blue ray to the dac just fine. I've called Comcast- ZERO help. I've gone into the cable box audio menu and changed to the proper PCM settings. I've searched high and low. Suggestions? Anyone. Thanks in advance. Cheers-
  4. Niner If your amp would love them, and at over just a square foot footprint, I'd find room for them... Now you got me thinking of building a SET kit with a pair of Superflys. (Superflies?). Time to start researching SET amps... Thanks a lot Niner! As for the Anti-cables, one word. Transparent. I've certainly haven't listened to every cable out there, but a few- And for the dollar, I know of none better. Plus, Paul is a great guy to work with. He custom built and shipped a set of speaker cables for my girlfriend on the morning he was leaving for vacation. Fantastic service. I'm thinking of ordering his (secret) SPDIF cable and giving it a go. @ AudioDoctor I would love to hear that ribbon tweeter and the Essence. @ OP Terribly sorry for the threadjack. I stand buy my recommendation tho. You won't be sorry with the Zu Omen, regardless of your listening library.
  5. @ Niner I just recently paired it with the Wyred 4 Sound mINT using Paul's Anti-Cables. First impressions are fast. Great bass. And crystal clear throughout the range. Transparent. I almost want to say 'crisp'(NOT bright), but really I think the best word for this rig is 'fast'. I am still getting to know this combo tho... Prior to that was the Outlaw RR2150 The Zus are amazing. Incredible value, IMO I've not heard the Soul Superfly, but they say they made it for a SET amp... it's twice the price of the Omens tho... however, they would probably pair quite nicely with your kit. http://zuaudio.com/#soul-superfly-loudspeaker.php Let me know if I can provide any more info- Cheers.
  6. I think that you should give the Zu Omen bookshelf a close look. I have the Omen floorstanders and they are fantastic for $1500... I'd bet the bookshelf wouldn't be far behind- http://zuaudio.com/#omen-bookshelf-loudspeaker.php
