  1. Thank you - that is exactly what I'm after
  2. Hi, I thought that was the case and think that it does sound great via usb. I am just keen to see what the higher frequency that can be achieved via spdif adds to the sound. The usb connection limits to 44.1-48k (not really sure what that means but guess that bigger numbers equal better quality). thanks
  3. Hi My motherboard is a Foxconn G43mx I have attached an image that highlights the part in question. Many thanks
  4. Sorry, this has probably been asked before but I can't track it down. I have a Rega DAC which I have hooked up using USB at the moment. However, I would like to try and connect via SPDIF but don't have a spdif port on my sound card, in fact I don't have a dedicated sound card. I do however, have a SPDIF output on the MOBO in my PC (that doesn't look like a normal spdif port). Is there a lead that exists that I can connect to the mobo at one end and have traditional s/pdif input at the other end that I can poke out the back of my pc? Or do I need to connect the mobo s/pdif to a sound card that has that port on it? Does the sound card do anything to the signal or just relay it? The USB connection sounds gorgeous but I would like to satisfy my curiosity. I hope I have used the correct terminology. Sorry to be so ignorant Martyn
