  1. There is galvanic isolation which is also isochronous, so jitter is completely eliminated as the timing now comes from the FPGA
  2. How about in black? I have a feeling that the use of super-capacitors in it is going to be the biggest sonic difference between Hugo and the TT personally.
  3. I wanted to clarify with Chord Electronics about the transferable warranty as it is a likely question to arise with me at some stage anyhow and this was the official response. ""Chord Electronics prides itself on its comprehensive product warranty is transferrable. As with any product warranty, however, certain conditions need to be met in order for us to be able to provide our customers with such an in-depth guarantee. In the first instance, if a product is returned to us or one of our distributors and/or their approved service agents, we will inspect the product, asses its warranty status and advise accordingly. Warranties are transferable to new owners, providing we have the original product registration and proof of new ownership is provided to us."
  4. Yeah I think you might be right there. Good to see the Hugo at £1199 though means more people can hopefully get to own one AND experience it's excellence. I found the same with SPDIF and USB.
  5. If anyone is interested in another review Chord Hugo Review
  6. The volume can be fixed and variable. You can put it into fixed mode by pressing the crossfade button and at the same time turning the unit on! This could damage your headphones so they made the volume control still available to quickly turn the volume down. Turn the unit off and then on again and it defaults back to variable output on the headphone sockets and the RCA sockets.
  7. Thank you Audio_ELF I can't seem to find dCS documantation on DoP I have only found the dsd-guide whitepaper. I shall look through the Foobar code and take a look thank you. Regards
  8. Hi all, I was just wondering with all the DoP hype if there is some source code somewhere that would do the encoding that I could take a look at please? Cheers
  9. Great review Chris, how much would you say the improvements are over the explorer?
  10. Looks like Meridian have just launched a new unit, the Merdian Director for £449... Director | Meridian
  11. We have just got this DAC into stock and wow! It is a stunning bit of kit! Really well made and knocks many units into touch at this price bracket. We have it running at the moment but i'm not intending to listen to it for a few hours yet! Phil
  12. Having heard countless USB cables including the Coffee and the Diamond I can honestly say that the new kid on the block Vertere is definately the way forward with USB cables. These are the most revealing and natural sounding USB cables around at the moment! Home Page Vertere USB Prices
