Just wanting some opinions and or advice concerning my new found love… audiophile! I have a computer background and am new to the audiophile side of things. My setup is a computer with an ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card going RCA out into a Cambridge Audio AZUR 651A. After listening to a few types of speakers I went with a pair of DynAudio Excite x12’s and tossed in my old Polk Audio PSW404 sub. All of those items are plugged into a Furman power conditioner. The area that im still trying to figure out are all the settings on the ASUS. For example what is the best sample rate for playing FLAC and say Pandora streaming @ 192k? Would the DAC on my Cambridge sound better than my ASUS? Currently I have the ASUS set to Analog out 2 speakers, but would I get better sound not using RCA output? Finally what about all these other settings like “Dolby Virtual Speaker” DSP effects? Hi-Fi versus Music… Tried searching around the web and forums for a newbie guide with no real luck. Thanks in advance!!
