  1. Yes I am. That sucks that it comes from the 3.5mm mini-jack. Is there anything to do about that at all?
  2. Hi, I have the 2011 Lampucera DAC (with the Burr-Brown PCM1798 DAC and Crystal CS8416 receiver). However, I often here a popping noise coming from the DAC. When the audio signal stops you can hear a popping noise after a few seconds and whenever you active the audio signal again it first makes a pop before it starts playback. It also happens when I change the sample rate of the system, for example from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I know the problem lies with my DAC, because there's no popping noise when I use the normal mini-jack output of my iMac.
  3. I am trying Audirvana Plus right now and it's a pretty nice program! I am looking for a program that basically integrates with iTunes and handles the different sample rates, without hogging the device. I don't need much more. I've looked at the specs of the (much cheaper) Bitperfect, but I don't think it allows you to disable hog mode right? And the other well-known programs don't have such a smooth iTunes integration as Audirvana Plus and Bitperfect, am I right?
  4. Thank you for the answer. So what happens when I put the output at 96 kHz and play a 44.1 kHz file? It seems to play the file just fine. So why not just always have the output set at 96 kHz? And what happens if I play a 176.2/192 kHz file. Does CoreAudio downsample it? What would be the best/easiest way to get rid of the Audio MIDI control (and 24/96 limitation)? Something like the Musical Fidelity V-Link 192 USB to SPDIF converter? Would such a device automatically set the sample rate output when files are played?
  5. Hi, I am relatively new to the field of the computer audiophile. I have recently bought the DIY Lampucera DAC (http://www.ebay.com/itm/24bit-192KHz-DAC-DIY-KIT-FULL-ASSEMBLED-KIT-Lampucera-/120740240119?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1caddaf7) with the Burr-Brown PCM1798 (24/192) chip. I have an iMac and use the SPDIF output to connect to the DAC. My question concerns the output of sample rates. I have a few audio files that have a sample rate of 88.1/96/176.2/192 kHz. Now I know that you can setup the sample rate output with the Audio MIDI setup in Mac OS X, but I'm not sure if the DAC completely bypasses this. For one, the maximum sample rate output in Audio MIDI is 96 kHz (whereas the DAC can handle 192 kHz). Moreover, my computer seems to play the higher sample rate files without any problems. So I'm not sure if I shouldn't worry at all about the higher sample rates being played, because my DAC all takes care of this, or that I should still manually adjust the settings in Audio MIDI in order to truly play audio at a higher sample rate.
