  1. Many thanks for your help. I agree with you that the best is trying to compare both elements listening live. I'll try to get a good external DAC to compare with my sound card. Regards, Edward Barcelona (Spain)
  2. I have a Sony Experia Neo V cell phone with Android 2.3, I run from my cell the iTunes in y PC. I use the iRemote free software from Android market and is great. I can see in my cell the artwork, lists, genres, authors, etc You have to download into your cell the software and also into your PC the matching one. Edward Barcelona (Spain)
  3. Hi friend, You have more info below and in to my answer to Chris. I have another question: if the original files are recorded at the standard cd quality (16/44.1 khz) is it possible to over escale to 24/192? is it worthy? As you see I'm a roockie in these affaires. Thanks for sharing your knowledege, Edward Barcelona (Spain)
  4. Hi guys, Below you have my equipment. I listen to my music recorded mostly in ALAC ripped from CD's. I don't know which is the weaker element of my system, I did my best trying to have a balanced one. I listen mainly progressive rock, jazz and blues. I'm very pleased with the sound quality but always I wonder if I can do something to improve the quality. Actually my question is a general one: with the same technical specifications, is worthy to get rid of my soundcard and swaping to a external DAC? I recomend you to visit the Marian website. They're german and are considered one of the best professional soundcards. Thanks a lot, Edward
  5. Hi friends, I'm looking for modern progressive rock groups in the Pink Floyd style. I'm Porcupine Tree fan and I enjoy a lot with Riverside, Opeth (last albums), Godspeed YBE, Russian Circles, OSI, IQ and others. I like crescendoes (Mogwai, Mono) and I prefeer instrumental rather than vocal. I grow up with Emeron, Lake & Palmer, Pink Floyd, Alan Parson's Project, Camel and other supergroups. Let me know any suggestion, exploring music is my life (despite I have to work hard to pay the bills). Thanks, Edward
  6. Hi friends, I want to improve my music quality although I'm very pleased with I get now. I made my own music server with the Marian Trace Alpha sound card, a professional one. It cost me around 300$. The question is if it is worthy to spent more money in a dedicated DAC (say 1.000$). I have stored my files mostly in ALAC and mp3 320 and I manage them with iTunes. Thanks a lot, Edward
