It turn out I have built in Texas Instrument firewire chipset on the motherboard. I will give Dac 2 a shot in a couple week.

Dainiel, Can I download the Dac 2 driver to test my PC without the Dac2? I would like to test it before I order the Dac2. The dealer only give me 10 days audition, so there isn't time to work out the issue and actually spend sometime with the unit.

This is sound like the incompatibility issue could be easily solved by using a firewire card instead of the the byuilt in on motherboard. Daniel, do you know which card works? Thanks, Chai

Ron, I wonder if you have resolved the issue. The Weiss Dac2 is on my short list to try. My PC is on Win 7 64 bit OS with Monkey media player. What media player are you using?

Guys, I am thinking about converting one of my old Pentium 4 Dell PC into A NAS using Window Home server software. Based on all of my research, it seems like a win-win situation for my need. First, I recycle my old PC for minimal cost (compared to Thecus N5200 B Pro at $700), and I am not limited to number of hard drives and hardware. Now, I am not sure if it would work with Itune library? I have not seen this mentioned in any reviews. Do you see any reasons why it would not work? Thanks Kent
