  1. Thanks, Demian. I actually just separately emailed you with the following questions: (1) Will the PK 100 have a problem with the fact that some of the files on my hard drive are in FLAC and some are in WAV? (2) The way I rip CDs is in WAV using Windows Media Player. Windows gathers the album art and track info. I assume that is then transferred to the hard drive and the PK 100 will recognize it? (3) Can multiple Mpads and Mpods be used with the 100? We wouldn't have an ipad or ipod dedicated to the device. Rather, when I'm not home, I'd want my wife to be able to use her ipod to control and when I'm home I'd want to use my ipad, etc. Is that a problem? (4) I am also considering a Bryston BDP-1. The Auraliti is cheaper which is nice. I've also heard that the BDP-1 has problem with external hard drives and, instead, favors thumb drives. Any experience in this regard? (5) What's the difference between the PK 100 and the L1000? Is the L1000 available? If you have the chance to respond, I'd appreciate it.
  2. Thanks for the comments. Does anyone have recommendations for a digital player that easily pulls from a USB hard drive?
  3. Great to hear, thanks. Since I already have the Bryston DAC, I think I'll add the BDP.
  4. Thanks for the reply. So, I'll get a higher sampling rate (and better sound) by running the hard drive right to a digital player like the Bryston BDP and then to the DAC, not using Squeezebox?
  5. The sample rate lights on my Bryston BDA-1 are always either on 44 or 48 despite the fact that I am playing FLAC and WAV files, including some dowloaded in 192K from HD Net. The "locked" light is also always on. I am running squeezebox duet into the BDA-1, could that be why?
  6. I'd appreciate some advice. I'm running a Squeezebox Duet which pulls from a hard drive filled with my music in FLAC and WAV. The hard drive is attached to a standard Sony laptop. The Duet runs through a Bryston BDA-1 DAC. I'm wondering if the Duet is limiting my sound and I should instead run the hard drive directly to a digital player like the Bryston BDP-1 or some other player or via a media server. Any suggestions would be appreciated and please keep in mind that I'm not overly-technical. Thanks. -- Driver 8
  7. Folks - I'd very much appreciate some advice. I've got a Squeezebox Duet which pulls from a hard drive on which I've got my music in FLAC and WAV. The hard drive is attached to a standard Sony laptop. The Duet runs through a Bryston DAC. What I'm wondering is whether I'd get better sound some other way, be it running the hard drive via USB to a digital player such as the Bryston BDP-1 or some other way. I love the ease of the Duet, including the remote control, but I wonder if I'm limiting myself somehow. Thanks for your thoughts.
