  1. Hi Chris, I decided to go ahead and get the Eversolo DMP-A6 a couple of weeks ago. I have it connected via hdmi to a Denon AVR-x3800h receiver in a 5.2.4 system. I can report that with this combination the DMP-A6 does output multichannel up to 5.1 at pcm 192 or dsd 64 through Roon, which confirms Eversolo’s description. It sounds quite good to me, especially using Auro 3D. Regards, Mario
  2. Hi Chris, Thanks for getting back so quickly. I'm glad you're liking it. I'll look forward to your review. Regards, Mario
  3. Hi Chris, This server recently came across my radar. I'm looking forward to your review. I'm particularly interested in the multichannel hdmi output. Have you had a chance to play around with that feature yet? Also, any idea about when we can expect your review. Thanks for all you do. Regards, Mario
  4. If you are considering Roon, one thing to be aware of is that at this time only Tidal, Qobuz & Kkbox are integrated. AFAIK you can’t use it to stream either Amazon or Apple Music.
  5. Happy New Year to everyone. Hope 2023 is kind to you all.
  6. A couple of things, depending on your room size & layout you can get pretty loud with 2 watts. The room where I have my Decware setup is about 12 x 20 feet and I normally keep the volume between 10 and 11 o’clock. My speakers are full range Omega junior 8 xrs with an efficiency of about 96 to 98 db.
  7. Hi, By high efficiency I mean any speakers above, say, 95 db. Your Cornwall ii have an efficiency of 101 db so they definitely qualify as high efficiency. You might want to do a search or ask a question on the Decware forum about klipsch Cornwall’s. I think a few people are using them with Decware amps. The downside of Decware amps is you have to wait for them to be built, which could be 6 to 12 weeks. With the right speaker the super zen triodes sound wonderful. If you feel you’ll need more watts than the Decware amps have and/or you don’t want to wait you might also take a look at Jolida amps. I don’t know about the new ones but the older ones have a good value for the price and with some tube rolling can sound really good. Regards, Mario
  8. You might want to take a look at Decware amps,, DECWARE USA MADE TUBE AMPLIFIERS w/ LIFETIME WARRANTY . The SE84UFO comes in at just under $1000. I've got one and it pairs very well with high efficiency speakers. Regards, Mario
  9. Hi Hopkins, Well, the show I saw was March 10, 1968 at the Washington Hilton Hotel ballroom. It was the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Soft Machine with an opening act I don't remember. Hendrix was the headliner and they did two shows one in the afternoon and one at night. I went to the early one which started at 3 pm. Audiophile sound it was not but as I remember the sound wasn't too bad. I didn't remember the entire set list but I do remember the Experience opened with Sgt. Pepper and the crowd went nuts. I recently looked it up and the set list was Sgt. Pepper, Hey Joe, Foxey Lady, The Wind Cries Mary, Red House, Purple Haze and Wild Thing. It wasn't a very long concert I don't think Soft Machine or the Experience played more than an hour each but the music was hot! Jimi did most of his stage moves like playing behind his back but didn't set his guitar on fire. He was using a bunch of effects pedals like fuzztone and wah-wah. Jimi did a bunch of improvisation and his playing was great. The friend I went with and I both thought we had really got our monies worth. I think the tickets were $4 each. Regards, Mario
  10. There are noticeable differences in the sound between open and closed headphone. I'm not saying one is better or worse than the other but they are different. If you are using the headphones around other people than closed are probably the better way to go. From the description of what you're looking for this may be just the ticket; Hel Yeah! Gaming and Home Office Bundle (danclarkaudio.com). The Aeon RT closed get very good reviews on Head-Fi.org and are supposed to among the most comfortable headphones around. Essentially you're getting a dac/amp and microphone for $86 as the Aeon RT closed sell for $499.
  11. As others have said, thank you Chris for your quick response. Regards, Mario
  12. Wish you all the best and hope to see you back here soon. Regards, Mario
  13. No the ROCK setup is only Roon you can't add or run anything else on it. That's one of the reasons I feel comfortable leaving it on 24/7, it runs cool, temp wise, and sounds good. I'm curious, does this mean you can only use Audirvana on two computers or one computer and one endpoint with a license? That could be a drawback if you have a large number of endpoints. With Roon you have the core on one computer but you can have controller or bridges on as many endpoints as you want. In addition any tablet, smartphone or computer with a monitor & keyboard can be used as a controller. I know what you mean. I was fortunate I guess to buy a lifetime subscription fairly early when it was very affordable.
  14. With the Roon ROCK, whenever I add files to it's external storage I also add them to the NAS. With the Raspberry Pi's I'm using they are connected via wifi, you can do that when you install the software and set them up. You'd have to check elsewhere about whether Airplay integration is possible or not, I'm running Windows & Linux OS's.
