I am very new to 'computer' audio and find myself in physically confined space which requires I adopt a more space efficient approach. I need something to store roughly 2500 CDs at an uncompressed (or at least uncompromised) size. And I want the device to be expandable and at least a little bit future-proof.
And, of course, it needs to sound really good.
Any thoughts on the relative merits of the various storage/playback options?
What could I do for £1000 or so? (I have all the other necessary kit, so just for a server or storage/playback device.)
