  1. Ok new year resolution ,to rip my sacd collection, Ted can you PM me with guide please, I believe I have the necessary hardware.
  2. I do NOT have a turntable, cartridge or anything analog at this point except some Sennheiser HD800 headphones which I will upgrade with Cardas cables, a high end amp and a high end DAC (currently using squeezebox touch for my DAC). What I'm finding now is that since the cans are so good that it shows the weak spots in a lot of material and really shines with great source material which is why I'm asking the question now as I'm running out good content. That is ultimately my question as I could easily spend $5k on a turntable alone, but like most things I think there is a point of diminishing returns. Even here there appears to be disagreement as to whether vinyl ripping sounds better but there appears to be a growing consensus. Is there a way to do an online poll here to help answer that question?
  3. Hello Fellow Computer Audiophiles, With the limited supply of HD content for music, and limited titles on CD, DVD, Blu-ray from the audiophile brands especially contemporary music, I find myself interested in getting new vinyl and ripping it in 24/192. However, the cost for the hardware to do this properly is probably $5k at the low end with the sky is the ceiling at the other. Given that I have no analog gear am I better of just sticking with digital and buying more "brick walled" CDs? Thanks, George
  4. Got it thank you, I missed your Oppo and Dune recommendation. I think the BDP-95 will work perfectly. My only concern now will be the accessing BDP-95 with my iPad and iPhone, is there any way to do that, so I can pick an album, artist, song on my end-user device and have it play back on the Oppo?
  5. Your recommendations on serving the wireless hi-rez multichannel audio content via JRiver worked no problem. My problem is I can't find a wireless receiver that will receive and playback multichannel hi rez audio files 24/96 or greater. I have found serveral wireless audio bridges on the market Pioneer N-30 & N-50, Squeezbox Transporter & Touch 300 and Denon DNP720AE, and the Marantz NA7004, but they all only play 2 channel audio. Are there any other products on the market that will act as wireless recievers of streamed hi-rez multichannel (more than 2) content?
  6. Didn't work I had to down-rez files to 16/44. Are there no multichannel hi-rez wireless bridges yet? Seems to me a glaring void in the market.
  7. I haven't purchased a bridge yet since I want 6 channel not 2. I have a PS3 and I will give that a try with 6 channel FLAC files.
  8. I'm archiving my SACD and DVD-A collection and I want to stream my multi-channel hi-rez 24/96 files. I have found many wireless bridges that can handle 2 channel 24/96 streams like the Logitech Transporter, but I haven't found anything for 6 channels or more. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm basically putting my music files on a NAS and a home server and my network is wireless, but I could reconfigure to wired if I was forced to (but I really would prefer not to have to do that). Thanks in advance, George
