  1. I am a long time audiophile. I started this thread shortly after I bought a demo S10 and had lots of questions about Aurender equipment. In those days communications with Aurender personnel was sporadic since they were getting their US operation better organized. I am on my fourth Aurender and had to do a lot of personal research to learn the quirks of some of the early units. I taught computer science at Hampton University for 25 years and still teach online graduate classes there. I was more active in various threads on this site but have had to curtail most “fun” web use due to an uptick in my Cyber Security research.
  2. A file synchronization application is very helpful here. You make the changes in one folder and can review what the effect will be on the receiving folder before implementing the changes.
  3. 1the connection to wikipedia is much improved.
  4. For newbies I would recommend saving a copy to an additional disk (or two) when loading music on your Aurender. This doesn't solve the time it takes to completely transfer a collection from disk to Aurender, Aurender to disk or Aurender to Aurender. But it is easier to maintain up-to-date libraries across devices. Especially, that there are so many good synchronization software products available.
  5. It would be really nice to be able to scroll the window when using the internal Wikipedia feature.
  6. IMO this latest software update while promising and having some very nice features is still a rough Beta release and not really ready for prime time ESPECIALLY when you consider the cost of Aurender's hardware offerings. I was in communication with a software person and he was unaware of the operation of "consume off/on" feature. I am sure there is a baseline of the previous version for historical purposes I am also hoping that there is detailed documentation. I am sticking with the latest update BUT it can be very frustrating sometimes...
  7. I do like that we now can use Wikipedia's full utility from within the Aurender app. Makes it easy to follow a trail of information about the music.
  8. Look at the top left corner of the screen. There are two arrows (one above the other) that form a semi-circle they are adjacent to the |< || >| icons. The manual calls this section "Playback Controls". I am in a hurry so I didn't look deeper. This feature has been available since the early Aurender models (this is my third Aurender).
  9. BUG REPORT ***** Well at least I think it is a bug. 🙂 When selecting replay feature (so that items in the queue/playlist will play continuously) the "Consume mode doesn't change from On to Off. I know that there is a manual switch but it is not convenient to select continuous play (which I use to warm up the system) AND THEN have to manually turn off the consume mode. To me the ideal situation is that the consume mode always toggle on and off when appropriate: On when not in continuous play Off when in continuous play
  10. Just went to the site and it is "Out of Stock". 😒
  11. How does the Ethernet cable affect sound quality, if it isn't in the audio path?
  12. So you are listening to your music via some source through your Ethernet cable and not from the W20's internal hard disks (assuming you have any installed)? Just curious. 🙂
  13. Okay. The suggestion was to get an app that allows you to sync across different hardware devices. Having this type of software is a boon and simplifies life. 😀
  14. I strongly suggest you get something like the GoodSync app. Whenever you make a change (short or long term) you can use the app and it will allow you to manage your files and keep them synced. I use it to sync my music files on my PC, N10 and NAS.
