  1. Thank You, once I figured out how to get the iPod setup in iTunes your solution worked.
  2. OK, I'm a 60 year old struggling with this technology. I have a MacBook Air with an iTunes library of ALACs. Today I bought an iPod Classic with the intent of copying the ALAC music off the MacBook Air to the iPod as 256k mp3s. Searching the web has proven futile. I thought this was supposed to be easy? I thank you for any suggestions, resources, or references.
  3. Found it in the menu. It was on ONE. Thank You, I hope that is all it was. Why would Apple change one's setting with an iTunes update?
  4. Hmm, where would I find that? Thanks for responding!
  5. A pair of Ohm F5015s would do it for me. "Only" $8900 a pair.
  6. Greetings and Happy New Year! I have iTunes 11.1.3 (8) running on a MacbookAir with Mountain Lion. When I updated to this version of iTunes I noticed that it no longer will play an album continuously through the tracks, and when the first track is completed playing, iTunes indicates it is playing the same track again but no sound is produced. When checking Up Next it shows the first track repeated indefinitely. If I select subsequent tracks for Play Next and Add to Up Next, the tracks will play correctly. Previously, I never bothered to delve into the workings of iTunes because it just worked for me rather intuitively. Now I feel like an idiot. Thanks for your consideration of my inquiry.
  7. iTunes and BitPerfect have worked well for me. KISS
  8. I have the Schiit Bifrost and think its pretty good. Don't see changing in the future.
  9. Could be. My subwoofer is in line with my loudspeakers. Speed of sound is the speed of sound, right? The bass in my system is sublime. Most loudspeakers are not time aligned like your Vandersteens. The Meadowlarks were also beautifully time coherent. I'd sure love a pair of Blue Heron IIs if anyone wants to get rid of them.
  10. There are also aural cues in program material which can make bass frequencies that are typically omni/non-directional seem like they are coming from the loudspeakers or otherwise placed within the soundstage. The low bass frequencies are often associated with other frequencies which are directional. Kick drum or slap on a bass, for example.
  11. Must not have Rythmik subwoofers.
  12. If you don't use files over 92kHz then the Arcam rLink is $50 less than the Meridian Explorer. Use the headphone optical output on the MacMini. Or the Arcam rPAC for USB, same price.
  13. DH Labs Silver Sonic 1.0 meter USB for $70. Spend the leftover on HD downloads or the cause of your choice. Thanks mayhem13!
  14. I believe once you have all your media files where you want them, and you set your media and library locations, you use consolidate library.
