  1. Well, I tried powering up with the heatsink on and I still get the same problem. Damn. Only thing to try now is a new CPU.
  2. Wow, that's interesting. I have not installed the heatsink yet. Maybe the problem occurs because there is not enough pressure?
  3. Yup, already tried a second Nano from Larry. I get the same issue with a standard ATX power supply too.
  4. No, still have the problem. You could be right about the socket contacts, but I'm experiencing this problem with TWO of the same model motherboards. Exact same issue. What should I look for with socket contacts? They looked fine with a casual glance.
  5. I have the new HDPLEX H5 case with the 250w Nano and 100W linear supply. When I power up, the power turns off and back on again every five seconds. The computer does not get to POST. I have tried a new motherboard and ATX power supply and can't get past this problem. It's a Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Rev 1.1 motherboard with an i7-4785T 35W CPU (yes, it's on the support list). I have tried clearing the CMOS and removed the motherboard out of the case and onto a sheet of cardboard. Same problem. Could the issue be with the CPU? I'm stumped on what else it could be since I have ruled out the PS and mobo. Anybody experience this? Huge thanks for any help.
  6. Ok, nevermind. I see a a tiny +5v input by the headphone jack. Does that switch the +5V from USB off?
  7. Possibly. Are you sure there was a ring? I thought the mobo traces were internal. Sorry, not following you at all. My options are: 1) Send the mobo to Paul and hope he can fix it. ($30 each way) 2) Scrap the whole idea, junk the mobo, and buy a new one. Then sell the clock to somebody else. Extremely disappointed. There should be a very clear warning about installing these. And that video proved to be worthless.
  8. No go on this. Anybody use conductive glue instead. Did anybody here actually install on these? I wish there was better warning about this here.
  9. Hello, I popped the original clock out with ease but I'm looking for help on re-soldering the new socket pins. I'm having trouble getting solder to adhere to the underside of the motherboard. The pins are wiggling freely because there is no metal to adhere the solder to the holes. I've watched the PP video a few times and it doesn't help. I don't understand how he accomplished this. Wow.
  10. I suggest starting this whole thing over. You got have the actual question in the first post. So are we suppose to pick the track we think has "high jitter" or the track that we think has "low jitter"???????? Thanks.
  11. So has anybody tried the Pink Faun card yet? Why would this induce more jitter than an audiophile grade USB card? (Sotm, JCAT, PP, etc.) This has received very positive reviews from both 6moons and TNT Audio. Another listening test here with the audio-gd Master 7: http://www.modelpromo.nl/PinkFaun_I2S_Bridge.htm
  12. Anybody know where I can purchase the PUC2 in the US? Very interested after reading this review: Yellowtec PUC2 Lite USB Converter
  13. Ben- Did you report back somewhere about these mods? Thanks.
