  1. Since changing my DNS to google DNS, I have had 100% perfect streaming. Has anybody else had any success with this?
  2. what is your connection speed via ookla? Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test
  3. No worries... It hasn't dropped out once since I changed the DNS... Fingers crossed.
  4. . IMPORTANT PERFORMANCE UPDATE!!! I am not sure if any of you already know this, however I have had some info sent back to me directly from TIDAL yesterday and it has successfully fixed my issues. I have a 26mb/sec connection which is more than enough, however my songs were jumping, pausing and locking which was driving me nuts... Until now! By changing your internet connection using the GOOGLE DNS SERVER, the data is sent and received much faster than a lot of the other DNS servers used by third party ISP's. Here is the information sent to me directly from Tidal - DNS server settings. https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using?hl=en
  5. I have a friend who is an overqualified software and electronics engineer... He ensures me that the USB cable from a Hard disc to a PC or DAC is not critical for quality as it is only delivering digital BITS... being 1's and 0's. The DAC or software component will do 100% of the work anyway. All you need to do is get ALL the bits to arrive. A standard cable will work fine. It is on the ANALOG side where cables become critical.
  6. The dacmagicplus is purely beutiful to my ears.. My mosfet amp loves receiving a signal via J river and ASIO. The ASIO 2.0 driver is outstanding.
  7. I do not understand hotness??? This is not a usual audiophile description? Please explain...
  8. Hi there, I have successfully got this working. Instructions after installing J-river media centre: DOWNLOAD "plugplayer" from the app store for your iphone or itouch. Requirements to get plugplayer remote control for J-river media centre from your iphone or ipod touch: You MUST configure DLNA in j-river media centre on your computer for this remote to work properly. On your computer: 1: Start J-river media centre 2: Go to: Tools/Options/Media network 3: Make sure that you have ticked the box that says: "Use media network to share this library and enable DLNA" 4: Go to: Tools/Options/Media network, click "Add or configure DLNA" In the new window go to "audio" and Change 'conversion' to "never convert" and then go to "encoder" and change to 'uncompressed - 24 bit' 5" In the same window, you will see "advanced" ensure that ALL 3 x DLNA boxes are ticked: DLNA server DLNA renderer DLNA controller Click ok and restart J-river media centre (Make sure it is on for the next step!) On your iphone or itouch: Go to your iphone or ipod touch and start plugplayer. 1: Go to devices and you should see a "j-river logo with "user PC" in the media renderer section. click on it to activate it (it should be ticked) 2: Do the same for the media server section. 3: Click the "browse" button and your audio should now be fully accessable for playing through your PC! ENJOY!
  9. Hi, Has anybody done any blind listening tests to see the difference?
  10. Hi, The ASIO driver sends bit perfect audio information directly to the soundcard from the disk... So they say. Does this mean that the soundcard is also an important part if using a USB asio output to an DAC? Would the perfect choice be ASIO over J-river/Foobar etc then through a Xonar D2 or simlilar and then a DAC such as a Cambridge audio dacmagicplus for example? Is the soundcard important or does it just send bits straight through itself and through the USB? Thanks
